#9 Aaron Kia – Dead (RIP) #11 Adam Leonard – Dead (RIP)
“This was a very difficult game to endure in the first half. The dice were against me right away, failing the first pickup with snake eyes on my catcher. Bad dice aside, the defense against was more than adequate, and I was shut down in the first.
The second half is where it became very interesting. There were bad dice at key spots going both ways. In the end, the CAS dice were good for Ex, but that didn't really "decide" this match. There were a LARGE amount of POW rolled by his non-tackle saurii (I believe Ex would attest to this as well) which freed up many a player for him to blitz with. In the end, after having 2 of my 3 Guards killed, I had an opportunity late, getting the ball to bounce to John Fonoti on a t7 blitz of a skink, and only paces away from the end line.
He grabbed a saurus, blitzed, and pow'ed it, freeing the ball. His skink in position failed his GFI and got KO'ed. I started the turn by getting a lineman into position to catch the winning pass, only to have him fail the very first GFI (with a RR) he tried, to end the match.
Both sides played GOOD defense. I know that for my part, my offense tends to be the weaker part of my game. I could have just as easily lost this match, as he failed his GFI on t8 of the first to score. It was just some kind of karmic balance for us.
Great match, Ex. Not mad at all about this one. I take a bit of pride in the tie of this one.”
