#6 Erna Schmelz – Dead (RIP)
#11 Nina Wirt – Broken Ribs (MNG)
This lucky break has quite a history.

It's the second time I had to compete against Uomotigre in this first season of the IL.
The first time was in uefa-cup in a "terror"-group with the two highest rated dwarf and chaosdwarf teams in the IL, coached by Uomotigre and Coach Tyrion. Not the best matchup for amazons.

Back then as today, Uomo and me had a close game and ended on a 1:1 tie, but the consequences of this event would haunt me later.
Dukes dwarves were a good 20 ts stronger and I knew that I couldn't beat him like that. He had plenty of money in his treasury, but thinking from his point of view, it seemed logical to me, to invest stars rather in his last game against Uomo then against me in round 2. I had plenty of money, so I decided to hire Zara to witch he responded by hireing Grim.
The following would happen slowly day after day within the next week. Noone of us did intend to hire something sneaky, so we had constant team changes for both of in response to each other for quite a while.
Each of us would dump 10k of the treasury at a time to stop my ability to gain a third handicap against Duke. This was often approached with a lot of tashtalk via pm. I couldn't imagine he would want to burn so much money on a game against a team he could basically push over. I certainly didn't want it, but figured my spendings wouldn't hurt much since he would never break his finances about it.
I was wrong: In fact it turned out that DUke wanted to win against me at all costs using a 40 ts advantage and didn't care about Uomotigre at all.

That was a brilliant strategy that hadn't even crossed my mind. After a very tough game against Duke, that was sometimes dominated by me, sometimes be him, fortuna eventually changed sides and he won.

With the tie between Uomo and me that meant that the result of DUkes game against Uomo would decide who of the two of us would advance.
Uomo had tied his first and his second game, while I had won, lost and tied one I was on 4 points and he on 2. He needed to win his last game to kill me off out of the tournament and Duke not caring about the result gave him all opportunity and Uomo won the last match.

Pretty depleted from a tough league all the German teams went home after the initial round, for me just to end a few weeks later against this horrifiying team again.

This time I was prepared.

Early on I planned to take as much of his dwarves out as possible and to destroy the backbone of his team that made all the superiority over Amazons.
It seemed someone had warned him, because instead of any dwarves he rather put a hobgoblin, a bull centaure and a troll at the frontline.

I knocked them with rather lucky one ds down and managed with a mb blitz right away to take my first dwarf out.... this lucky and unexpected result made me cheer very much...

I advanced good in his half, a foul almost killed another dwarf but was apoed.
Dominating basically the entire first half of the game I rushed without difficulties to the goal and expected at best a tie from him in this game.

In turn 7 he put a tacklezone on my ballcarrier, opponent without block.
noone was free to assist my ballcarrier and the rather strong CD's were rushing in from all sides.
It was rainy weather and I figured an early score was more then fine for me.

Just making a few blocks to maybe get a cas I suddenly realised that I blindly had wasted my blitz and my ballcarrier now couldn't blitz his way free from the hobgoblin and score.

I did the next best thing and just dodge.... and was punished for my mistake
....the ball fell back on the pitch, a dp hobgoblin grabbed it and fouled my player into eternity wisely knowing that i would have noone else in range.

I of course used my apo, dodged next to the ballcarrieing fouler who was still standing in my endzone and pushed him out of the game, but the ball stumbled in an unfortunate position and with the rainy weather I didn't manage to make up for my mistake.

Now it was Uomos half and it didn'T look too bright from the start. I was in a way greatfull because due to me not scoring in half one 2 of his ko'ed dwarves wouldnt come back.
There were plenty of hobgoblins on the field and I would have done good to focus on their low armor now.

Instead a bit blinded I still tried to handle the CD's and was punished by soon being 9 against 11. The CDs found a hole and closed it up well.
It looked like I would lose.

A bit clueless about what to do I -2dblocked a troll wich was an obstacle to get to the ballcarrier. A pow and a both down brought the monster down and I suddenly realised that an opportunity had opend.

The chances were still slim and it took me about 5 dodges, half of them without being able to use the dodge skill but I manged to lay a 2d on the ag4 bc and punch him out of a game. WIth yet another tackleskilled dodge i brought another player in and picked the ball up.

AGAIN blindly I overlooked that a cluster of two of my girls and two hobgoblins could be pushed by a dwarf into scoring range. It was already Umos last turn. One of my players was already set for scoring and since i didnt fail anything I could remove that dwarf and one of my zons from their positions taking any realistic chance from uomo to score and expecting the game to end on a tie.

I had one last pass to score and did but it ended on an intercetption.

It turned out, Vicious had set the game for overtime so another half was coming.
With offense on my side I managed to take two of the dwarves out with mb in turn one recreating the old dwarf advantage from before and this time bring the ball supposedly safely in.

I hadn'T taken one of his hobgoblins in account who dodged through several tackelzones and knocked my advancing ballcarrier girl down and let the ball scatter all over the field deep in my own half

However unexpected for Uomo too he had noone left to take advantage of the situation.
Since I mostly dominated the field at this point I could reaquire the ball and bring it home safely for the final and I think also deserved but lucky triumph over the chaosdwarves.

The game was definatly tough as hell and really exciting. Good Game,

Let's hope I'll never get to see your revenge. :)
