We kick deep and their two ghouls run back to fetch it, while we send a centaur into their half to keep them under pressure. T4 and they rush a ghoul down a sideline into our half, but we're able to tackle him over with a dwarf. Their other ghoul manages to 1d POW the dwarf and recover the ball and 4 dice with tackle the next turn can't knock him over.

They then make a nice move on T6 with a few dodges that lets him 2d blitz his way out of danger and deep into our endzone to score on T7.

We have two turns to try and equalise but a perfect defence slows us down enough that they can easily knock over our only player in range. We both put in fouls before half time but the only result is a sent off zombie. 2/4 of their KOs wake up so we have 11 vs their 10.

We remove a couple of players in the first couple of turns and rush the ball down one side, but on T2 a good dodge + 1d blitz from a wight KOs the ball carrier and the crowd tosses it into the center of the field. We recover with one hobgob and the last one dodges over to BH a nearby wight with a foul! Their mummy blitzes over and BH's one of our centaurs before marking the ball carrier - and on T4 we use our last reroll failing to dodge away!

Fortunately we are able to stop them stealing it and by T6 we have it back and have thinned their numbers enough that they can't stop us making it 1-1 on our last turn.

A good close match, that I'll probably have to admit remained close partially due to me having a bit more luck. Two times a 1-dice block ended up knocking down the targetted Hobgoblin ball-carrier, and I had more luck with my Agility 3 dodges than clarkin had with his, no doubt about that. The Perfect Defense result in turn 7 certanly did help make it a lot easier to prevent going into the 2nd half 1-1 as well.

All in all, a match that stayed interesting through every turn of the game.
