#11 1st Mate – Dead (RIP)
I went into this game relatively confidently, having built my team to take on most races. Being up against morg didn't concern me neither, I had enough firepower to deal with him and he's a walking punchbag that's just begging to get smashed!

My gameplan was a tried and tested one, force the elves early score and them smash them to oblivion for the 1st half equaliser and walk in the winning TD with minimal opposition.

1st half went to plan, (other than Colin's 1D killshot that kill/killed on an apo roll!) the elves scored early, and I went to work. I got a right result with Morg...I KILLED HIM! Naturally the fouler got sent off but what a scalp! The rest of the drive was easy enough, and I waltzed in for the equalising TD.

(btw...Bloodweiser babes are AWESOME!)

The 2nd half saw me recieving, and I felt very confident that I was gonna walk this one home. Nuffle had other ideas! I failed the pick up, the ball scattered south and right into the path of 3 or 4 gratefull elves! I was forced to rally, and again force the score. Now I needed to score to take it into overtime.

Nuffle again tried to balls me up, it took me 7 dice to secure the ball! Finally I picked that bastard pigskin up and secured it in a cage.

Overtime saw nuffle finally smile on me, I recieved! But OH NO!!! A blitz! Luckily colin's 1D strategy finally failed him, I got the ball (no probs this time), cleared the pitch after bagging another pesky elf and I took the game with the golden TD.

A fun game with fun banter and good participation from the specs (usual Calcium hatred!!!)

thanks Colin, I'm gonna take it home for all us non bashy races out there!

#1 Gilmandel Glimmerfist – Dead (RIP)
#3 Eäranduil Everhand – Fractured Leg (MNG)
#6 Eärylas Shadestalker – Broken Jaw (MNG)
#10 Faldimir Lighthaven – Groin Strain (MNG)
#12 Mórion Spearbreaker – Smashed Ankle (-MA)
Having suffered a disastrous match the previous game, suffering 8 casualties including 4 MNGs, I knew this was going to be a tough one - and so it proved.

Receiving first, the Humans made no attempt to cover a whole flank, inviting the score. As I'm of a mind to accept such invitations and see what comes, I accepted it and took the 2 turn TD, 1-0

The Humans then set about dismantling the elven defence - it gathered pace when the Star Player, Morg'n'thorg, was killed. Up till then, he'd been a handy distraction. Perhaps Zara and the Prince would have been better options for this game, we'll never know.
The Humans ran in a T8 TD and left it all square, 1-1.

Receiving again, the kick scattered right into the endzone of the Pirates - a fluffed pickup and the ball landed invitingly in the Pirates half, just within range of the Elves. They surged forward, formed a screen, and passed the ball successfully into it, safe from a blitz. The humans hustled, putting the pressure on. The Elves responded by handing off to the team's thrower Eäranduil Everhand, who dropped back deep in his iwn half whilst his teammates scattered across the Pirates half. Finding himself with 'only' an Ogre for company, team captain Gilmandel Glimmerfist gratefully accepted the pass and ran in the TD - 2-1

The Humans received again, and this time there were no mistakes, and the attrition continued. The eventually ran in the T8 TD to make it 2-2.

Overtime began with only 5 Elves left on the pitch. The cointoss was won by the Pirates, and Elven hearts sank. However, a Blitz kickoff result gave the Elves one last sniff - however, Nymir Winternight botched his 1d blitz in an effort to get under the ball, and was carried from the field, badly hurt, for his efforts. That was basically that for the Elves - they had no hope of protecting a TD while so outnumbered. Still they gamely tried, and as the last Elf was carried from the pitch, the Humans ran in the winner.

Tragedy struck in the form of the death of Gilmandel Glimmerfist near the end of the 2nd half - the armband passes to the collosal Tyrion Silvermist, who missed this game.

I have to say I'm proud of my team - they put up a good game against a psychopathic opposition (paying the price in the process), and were only a sniff away from victory themselves.

Good luck to Calcium in the tournament, he has a strong team that could go far.
