“Well here was a game!

The first half was Shrieking Bloodstorm all the way, with KO's all over the place; of course, Krronk was badly hurt too.. and Tellik, so all the guard was gone. But a 2-0 lead and 3 of Varuna Dentata not playing for the second half clearly showed a Bloodstorm advantage.

And Shrieking Bloodstorm recieved for the second half - Shreeft sprinted forward into a badly built, but numerous cage deep in the Norse half; and then Floppy the Yeti somehow ended up with the ball, and a solid Norse cage all around him. Skinks began to drop all over the place as lizardman desperately tried to get the ball away from the giant Snow Troll; but with no guard, there was simply no way. Norse were also KO'd consistently, until Floppy blitzed a saurus trying to move forward.. and double-skulled his way into losing the ball. Only 13 players remained on the field, but the norse managed to recover and get a blodger loose with the ball far from any Shrieking Bloodstorm; only Saurel was 'near' the ballcarrier, and he was knocked down, with two tacklers marking him. So Saurel jumps up, dodges perfectly, goes for it, goes for it again and pows the ball carrier with a KO! Nuffle simply does not want the Norse to score - the ball flies into the stadium seating, where a screaming Skink throws the ball straight to Tallac, who is marked by 2 tackle zones - but of course the Saurus nonchalantly catches the ball, no problem! Venetiari is understanably swearing at this point, but his superior positioning of the remaining players shows.. Tallac is easily knocked down, the ball picked up, and a screen formed, and this time, there is nothing Shrieking Bloodstorm can do. Varuna Dentata scores a turn 8 touchdown.

Inconveniently, both Shindahl the Super Star skink, and Zekssi the emerging Saurus are missing for our next game; and with the Ulthuan Invitational looming, missing out on 360k team value could be a dangerous blow.
Lezzat, the rookie Skink who scored, was named MVP for his success - he was so excited he couldn't stop jumping for 20 minutes; of course the other skinks kept knocking him over as encouragement, but Jump Up might be useful for later matches.
