Kefahallak and welcome to the Premier League!
As the Holy Month of Ramadan begins, the Falcons welcomed the Whalekillers to our Majlis in which we smoked shisha and ate dates together for the very first Iftar.
With stories exchanged and the camels watered we took to the field in the very first game of SWL Premier League.
Our foes were undefeated in the qualifying season with seven straight wins and they elected to receive. Our lines met and the Falcons gained a rapid ascendency as our guard and tackle negated the Whalekiller line.
Harald bin Harald al Whalekiller stepped back deep in the pocket and sensing blood we committed hard but we over extended and combined with poor man-marking, the Whalekillers ran past using their superior speed and we were down by Wahed.
Late in the first half, we returned fire and were soon rolling the cage and had nothing but open sands in front but suddenly as Allah can atest, we were descended upon by the Devils Fire and A'rbaa Falcons were felled by a blast including our runner Hazem bin Khalifa.... a'Masha'allah!
Cautious of more devilry, the second half began with a crunching drive and the Whalekillers finally started to lose men. But the Whalekillers were resilient foes and a scrum ensued before Hazem once again sprinted into the backfield. Desperately the man who looks like a woman who looks like a wolf, the one they call Martha, dodged and scooped the ball from a flailing Hazem who had been felled by the defence and she/he/it threw the ball to the Whalekiller fans! Again, more devilry and the fans threw the ball back down field over the Falcon line.
Our fearless leader Faoud bin Basir though picked the ball up and hurled a long pass downfield to Ali bin Mohammed to score despite such cheating devilry!
In the final quarter, the Falcons blitzed but Ali bin Mohammed missed an opportunity to handoff and went down in a mistimed dodge and the advantage was lost as the match ended with wahed touchdowns each.
