Bonchurch Beachcombers vs. Porchfield Pacifists
The rookie wood elves from Bonchurch took the field against the Chaos players from Porchfield. The Pacifists took the opening kick and proceeded to decimate the Beacombers with a combination of tough blocking and fouls. By the end of the first half, the Pacifists had a 1-0 lead on the scoreboard and a 11 to 7 lead on the field. Once the strategy of the Pacifist was clear, the Beachcombers tried to foul back but being under practiced at this, 2 of their players were dismissed by the referee before a Beachcomber foul actually had any effect on the Pacifists.
The 2nd half saw the Beachcombers try desperately to score only to see their pass intercepted by Mother Theresa on turn 3. As MT rumbled downfield, the elves gang tackled her and recovered the ball near midfield. Turn 5 saw the elves break the ball out of a surrounded situation passing downfield to an open dancer. Spindrift was summarily surrounded, popped multiple times until he coughed up the ball. The Pacifists moved the ball to midfield on turn 7 and hoping to get the win, tried to hand the ball off but fumbled giving the Beacombers a last gasp shot at the endzone.

As the fans (all 10 of them) held their breath in anticipation, Rookie lino Whitecliff dodged out from 2 tacklezones, picked up the ball at midfield and tossed it to Spindrift waiting in the endzone. Spindrift had been on the ground and surrounded by 4 pacifist players as the turn began. So it came to Overtime.

11 Pacifist versus 6 Beachcombers. The Elves fumbled the kick giving the ball away to the Chaos team. They moved slowly down field giving the elves plenty of chances to take the ball away which the finally did. But they were unable to capitalize as again, the could not pick up the ball and the Pacifist numbers took their toll.

The Beachcombers made good on their promise to bring home the woodenware this season. What will they be able to accomplish next?”
