#9 Eisenherz II – Smashed Hip (-MA)
This match really went from one way to the other.

The team composition seemed to favor the boatladies, with a blodge sure hands and a tackler against the strip ball dancer. The first half went badger's way. After a slowish start the receiving elves scored on turn 4. This was followed by a humans touchdown on turn 7, but then they got a blitz KOR and scored again, leaving them to receive with a comfortable 2-1 advantage in the second half. Game over. Right?

But then the dice swung the elves' way. A deep kick followed by a quad skull allowed them to pressure and claim the ball and score. A riot left the humans with little time and their solid offense was countered when the wardancer managed a leap, dodge, 4 die pow on turn 8.

This meant 2-2 and overtime, which still looked quite in favor of the humans: Playing 11 vs 9, receiving, and ahead 2 vs 0 in rerolls. Their setup allowed the wardancer a 3+dodge, leap, 1 die on the ball, which he managed, followed by 2 further gfis and a pickup. Although the humans recovered the ball for a bit, they spent their rerolls and lost positioning control, while the elves, realizing they had no rerolls, simply stopped rolling ones altogether.

The result was a 3-2 elven win that no one would have expected at half time.
