Thanks Ellhaynes for a great match.
Played in great spirit, top guy, would love to play again anytime.

Sure made the orcs work for their victory. Looking at the matchup I was pretty confident to be honest, but it was hard work the entire way.

One skill roll, the abomination of my blitzers continue with another stat, +ST :-) :-)

I need to stay away from clawbomb with this team :-)......my next oponent is either very heavy claw mighty blow nurgle, or heaving mighty blow/piling on dwarfs :-)

#8 Dave Duerson – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
#13 Calvin Thomas – Fractured Arm (MNG)
The first tournament game for the Werebears ends in a close defeat to a rapidly developing orc powerhouse.

We opted to kick as usual and got lucky with a few nasty injuries on the orcs early on. After a bit of payback, we were down to 8 vs 8 in the first half. Managed to force the orcs into a turn 8 pick-up with no rrs, but with AG5, it was never really in any doubt. 1-0 at the half.

Good old Wilber Marshall received the kick-off in the second half and some nice 1 die blocks helped him to get the equaliser, but only on turn 4.

As expected, the orcs came back quickly and despite the best efforts of the retreating defence - Wilber had a brilliant 2 die uphill block that pooped the ball loose - it again came down to the Ag5 guy catching a hand-off to win. He did it, final score, 2-1.

A great game, played at a nice fast pace and with lots of friendly banter from my opponent. He took his double skulls like a man and didnt cry (at least, I dont think he did) when my beastmen dodged all over the place.

That's a nice looking nucleus for an orc team there, led by a top coach. They could go far in this tournament.

(until someone clawpombs them into oblivion...)
