““One man’s misery is another man’s joy” as a saying by somebody famous (maybe) goes. This game proved it. Two evenly matched teams lined up and slugged it out. The Prophets received and began a methodical advance forward, but a crowded (and body strewn!) line of scrimmage proved tricky to cross. Prophet’s ball carrier was sacked and the ball bounced free. Both sides struggled for the ball but neither managed to secure any kind of serious offense before the half ended.

Second half, Crimson received and tried to force a cage down the left wide zone, but the snizzleing Hobgoblin ball carrier lost his nerve and tried to switch play to the centre. Big mistake! He was forced back and sacked in short order. The ball bounced free in the Crimson backfield and with time on the clock, a TD for the Prophet’s looked nearly certain. What followed was an almost comical display of bad dice, as the Prophets repeated failed 3+ rolls to pick up the ball. Crimson tried to get in the way as best they could, but the Prophets cleared out the last few defenders – and STILL couldn’t pick up the ball. On the final turn of the game it seemed as if the run of bad luck was at an end as one of the Prophets’ werewolves finally sunk his claws into the ball and ran in for a certain touchdown. He needed to Go For It! For two extra squares. He made one, then for the final extra square to get to the end zone he tripped over his tail and ended up face down in the end zone!

The referee blew his whistle to end a truly amazing game. Coach Katana was left shaking his head in amazement, knowing his team had been completely outplayed but that the dice had saved their blushes!
