Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? We were after he minced a tomb guardian, whom fortunately regenerated.

The first half was the fascinating period of this game. A sweet kick right in the corner at the half way line and perfect defense set up a tactical maul near the sideline that would decide the match as both coaches worked hard to avoid being surfed in large numbers.

A -2D juggernaut surf on a flesh golem (1 of 2 necro guards) opened the play and gave me strength advantage, although - with 1 guard left - it was still tough to prevent Diced from spitting my markers back out of the maul. A few early knockouts proved critical, creating enough room for a fend skeleton to sneak around the back and hem in the pacey wolves.

Twice fend would keep players in tackle zones at key moments. First a wolf blitz, frenzy cancelled by a fend, meant that there was no way out of the maul despite a fortuitous catch of a scatter by a flesh golem. Then towards the end of the game, fend prevented a block marking of Scapula as he dashed free with the ball.

With fend contributing to holding the maul where I wanted it, super wolf Daggett was forced to dodge and fell, dying with an epic splat. Regeneration was not so kind to Diced and from there on in I had numbers and position, knocking out the other wolf.

At half time only unskilled zombies returned from the knockout dugout, gifting me speed advantage and making the victory inevitable, despite a spirited defensive effort in a challenging 2nd half by Diced.

Good game! I really enjoyed that! The only shame was that the wolf didn't die until the boot of Carpal or Carpals, the fouling super duo!

#1 Marius – Damaged Back (NI)
#11 Daggett – Dead (RIP)
Tombification played a spectactular game here. Their fend/wrestle skeles frustrated us. They took big chances for huge reward with the early double -2db frenzy juggernaut chainpush on Marius. And they fouled expertly and ruthlessly to maintain their advantage.

The wet weather could have made it a shutout as actually retrieving the ball on such a day wasn't easy for either side. But when Scapula went to retrieve the ball from amidst the booting frenzy mid pitch he scooped it up like a big handed elf and sauntered away with it as his team mates sat down hard on any desperate attempts to recover the ball.

Great game Tombi. Not a great day out for RUR.
