“The Scalewood Comets leaped out (har har har) to an early lead when Lissilaan hauled in a pass from Veriss after a quick start and charged into the endzone.

The sweltering heat took it's toll on both teams, making even the Slaan tired, and the Vampires . . . very very thirsty, which took it's toll on the Thralls. With the Slaan dropping like flies they were too tired to catch, and the Thralls dropping like flies the Vampires weren't, a few rough scrums left both teams heavily depleted, and the Vampires able to take advantage of a nearly empty pitch to get into the endzone through a combination of power blocking and a short field. The Slaan were were severly depleted just in time for the weather to cool off, and turn beautiful, which lasted only long enough for the vampires to score again, and the weather to break into sudden severe rain.

Deprived of half their team and their passing game due to the rain, the Comets attempted to form a cage in lieu of an air game, but time ran out before they could equalize the score.
