“XFL VII Norse, Finals -

It was a beautiful Blood Bowl day when the defending champs, Cancion de Fuego y Hielo, took to the field against the up and coming, Fight Gone Bad. CdFyH won the coin toss and chose to receive. This was familiar territory for FGB as the last three matches had them playing defense to start. Their "D" has been top notch thanks to Grant the Great. CdFyH charged into the FGB lines with aggression led by the Snow Troll, Gregor Clegane. The "Great One" accepted the challenge and attacked the monster. It was over very quickly as the rookie Troll had no idea who he was messing with. A flying knee caught Gregor on the temple dropping the Big Guy to his knees. In one swift motion, the Berserker spun around to the back and snapped the beast's neck. Gregor fell lifeless and the carcass was hauled off by five burly men.

A brawl broke out at midfield with both teams suffering some casualties and knockouts. It was back and forth action with FGB so engrossed on fighting that they forgot about the ballcarrier. Jon Nieve easily ran the ball up the field and stood by the goal line watching the fight. The Wishmaster's team was losing it at one point being down four players to one. "This fight is going bad in a hurry," he commented, but the FGB players wouldn't have it any other way.

The next turn swung the momentum of the battle as a CdFyH player seriously injured himself trying to disengage from the fight followed by another badly hurt by Lord Drade. Seph landed the "Norseman's Elbow" on the prone killer, Barristan Selmy, but the medical team worked wonders to put him back on the bench. This put a lot of worry on the brows of Jon Nieve. Konan rushed next to Jon forcing the Runner to score with two turns left on the clock.

FGB received and sent a receiver up both sides of the field. They were both stuffed with Barristan piling on top of a hapless rookie lineman. Seph decided to finish what he started and took off from the line of scrimmage to drop another "Norseman's Elbow" on to the face of Barristan. The Berserker was seriously injured as Seph's razor sharp elbows gouged into his eyes.

FGB received in the second half and the ball was kicked deep. Surrel had a little problems picking up the ball and CdFyH sought to take advantage. Both their Runners got deep into FGB territory putting pressure on Surrel. A mini blockade was set up and a lightning bolt coming from the CdFyH sidelines flashed towards Surrel. The Thrower ducked under it and escaped a disasterous outcome. FGB quickly swarmed around him to protect their ballcarrier and continued their ground and pound. They quickly overwhelmed the already undermanned CdFyH team with Grant putting on the finishing touches, seriously injuring Jon Nieve. Surrel would score late in the second half thinking of trying to end this game in regulation.

FGB's deep bench earned its worth as they were still able to field ten players against five. A crucial blunder by the Wishmaster put his kicker in the wrong spot and he wasn't able to kick the ball effectively sending it out of bounds for a touchback. Strong Ulf, Robert Baratheon, was given the ball and he sped up the field trying to give his team a chance. He almost stole the victory but Anton was there to trip him up before it could happen sending it to overtime. FGB fans, coaches, and players alike breathed a sigh of relief.

CdFyH won the coin toss again but they only had four players to work with. Jeor Mormont picked up the ball and ran it up the left side of the field protected by two of his teammates. Unfortunately he had nothing left in the tank and he flopped to the ground calling for some water. The ball was there for easy pickings and Tarrant was the one assigned to do it. He would run up the length of the field and high step it into the end zone to seal the victory.

Fight Gone Bad dethrone the defending Champs, Cancion de Fuego y Hielo in overtime and become the new Champions! An almost teary eyed Wishmaster gave Grant a hug as the Legendary Berserker just earned his Coach his first tournament victory!!!!!

What an awesome tournament run going through five teams. From what looked like an early first round exit to some of the most dominating play this team has played yet. They will never forget this moment. Whatever happens at this point, Fight Gone Bad will be forever known as the XFL VII Norse CHAMPIONS!
