Wheel of Chaos - Round 5:

The crowd certainly had an impact on this game...starting each half off with a riot to quicken the pace. In the first half, we slowed the elf advance...then it was up to our Rat Ogre who marked the elf ballcarrier - whose attempt to dodge away failed. The only saving grace for the elves was that their best player caught the ball on the goal line. Still, we were unable to free our blitzer, so we had to 4+ dodge to get the blitz off...it worked and the throw in was good enough - the elves could not recover and we took the ball - screened off at midfield...had a very good shot to score, so the elves did the only thing they could in unleashing their wizard - BOOM! Down went our ballcarrier - and the half ended 0-0.

Second half we had a few player advantage and built upon it...the elves sniffed the ball once as a leaping wardancer freed it, but they could not pull off the elf steal - we managed to surf their best wardancer and soon enough it was just a few elves laying on the ground left. We stalled out - then scored. Enough elves woke up that good rolling would still give them the shot at the one-turn. Instead the crowd raced in and stunned the 3 elves on the LOS and it was over.

A tense and fun game - thanks and good luck!

The Wheel of Chaos Tour comes to an end for the Tribute Band.

Rehearsals prior to the event were disastrous, such that Pine Valley had to draw on the legions of wannabees happy to show up for a single game throughout their run. That worked ok when playing dorfs in the fringe event, but when invited to play in the Main Event the Tribute Band came up short.

Woodelves who don't score on offence don't win. A nice pyrotechnic show by the wizard kept the scores even at halftime, but there was an air of inevitability about the second half

Now the Band goes back to rebuild, something it was trying to do prior to the Wheel of Chaos. And the wheel will be won by some mutant team...hope it's Burn Notice given they beat us and sport av7 armor and some speed and dodge and other things woodies like.
