The Bears had a quick snap and immediatley got the ball to Gale Sayers, a rookie catcher, who went forward into the middle of our half while a cage formed. Jesiah struggled, Fato stood dumb and Oggod fell so the Bears then quickly scored.
After a foul kick Gevehard took the ball on the LSO while Fato ko'd a liner. Butkus, the Bear's dangerous blitzer, appeared to fracture Hugo Looser's leg but the apo patched it up. Our attack switched sides with the opponents left in our wake though Willie Gaud did a brave saving blitz attempt which got him killed!..No he was ok after miracle apo work. We stalled but Singletary did an incredible effort to badly hurt Fato. Suddenly things looked concerning for the next half. We stalled out and Gevehard scored with just some brief action following till the half time whistle.
Jesiah was caged around but one of his protectors Wilhelmus was ko'd by Butkus. He dashed forward but was himself then taken as Singletary then took the ball. But Gevehard promptly flung him to the crowd who smashed his knee (to give him a pair of similar niggles). Another fan then lobbed the ball to our journeyman but he was taken down and Sayers caught the bouncing ball. There was still more time for the ball to change hands. After another blitz Jesiah scooped up the ball, he was pushed into the fans by a great Sayers effort but after a long throw Gevehard had a chance to win it. He failed on the first try! Rather than blitz him the Bears went for an optimistic option to snatch the ball and after they failed a blitz on the los Gevehard had another opportunity which he took to win the game at the death.
