So I believe this game fits the cliche, it was a game of two halves.

First kick off, the Dragonriders receive but the Bunnies get a perfect defence. The first block of the match is double skulls, re-rolled.

Second turn, snakes on my first dodge. Bang goes the chance for a quick TD. Bunnies, surf the ball carrier, and the ball ends up deep in their half.

Synn then executes an expert grinding TD, running the ball from deep in his own lines (with the help of some useful POWs) to score a turn 8 TD.

The Bunnies pitch control was excellent and although I did manage to get one insane dodging hit on the ball carrier (-2db) his sure hands prevents me from stripping the ball from his dead hands.

N.B. I will admit that despite the better of the dice, Synn also played the better bbowl in the first half. Positioning and pitch control were brilliant and I will watch the replay to get as many pointers as possible.

Prophetically at the start of the second half, Synn said: "I'm much better at defence."

The second half kicked off, this time it was the Dragonriders turn to roll perfect defence. The ball sailed out into touch, and the touchback was handed straight to the St6 Block mummy, HarvestPOW.

Turn 1 of the second half, the mummy is clear, I can get a shot, but it is -2db shot. Muarali saunters in and double POW. I'm shocked, Synn is unhappy face and HarvestPOW is on his back, but the ball is in several tacklezones.

Now it gets interesting, some small blocks and with the elves infiltrating behind the Bunnies' lines, no proper cage can be created. This time it is Aurora whose turn it is to blitz the ball carrier (Muarali having been KO'd). Only a push, but his stripball ability pops the pigskin, the elves fail a 3+ dodge and it is a turn over.

The Bunnies then fail to pick up the ball after a KO and a surf. Now the Dragonriders' Finwe gets his mojo going. Some tricky dodges, and naughty pick up and a pass puts Orophin, the thrower, in the clear with dodges and gfi's required by the Bunnies.

Incredily the ghouls nail the dodges and gfi's, pop the ball and end with it in hand. WOW! The Bunnies are cooking too!

Aurora steps up to the plate again. Dodging away from HarvestPOW, then past the dauntless Lone Star Pain State, and pops ball free.

Finwe, he of the heroics in the previous turn, dodges away from the ghoul marker, takes two gfi's, while Orophin picks up the loose ball and accurately hurls the pigskin to the catchers waiting hands.

1-1, four turns to go, game on!

A turn each of standard kick off routines and then a small gap emerges in the cage, one of the zombies, is just out of position. Aurora makes for the gap, 4+ dodge, 75% of the time it works all the time. 1d block and out comes the ball again. It bounces safely out of reach of the elves, who consolidate their position.

With the elves over committed to the southern flank, the Bunnies see a gap and of streaks Hairball, in the clear, on his own, and just (just) in reach of the catchers. They get back and pop the ball (again!). The Bunnies would need some dice to score, but first they had to knock over Glorfindel who had put himself in scoring range.

The Bunnies last reroll is used on a GFI, 2DB to ensure a draw at worst, Lustrian Luster runs in, dice roll, double skull. Would you believe it?! I couldn't and I'm fairly certain neither could Synn. We'd each rolled a double skull, one to start the game for the Dragonriders and one to finish it for the Bunnies.

Still, the elves hadn't finished yet. Pickup, handover, block (to clear a path), rush, pass, failed intercept, catch, dodge, TD, 2-1!

Thanks for the game Synn. Can't believe how different the first half was to the second.
