Warpstone Open 8: Round 1, Qual 2

This match was comical in its own way, for a number of reasons.

Reason #1: First half, we go no dice at all. We had a ton of non-blocks (skullpow/skull, push/push on sidesteppers, etc.). Our troll went dumb 3 or 4 times.

Reason #2: Strip Ball on both sides, no Sure Hands anywhere. the_Sage's strips were much more effective, but in general the ball was unsafe no matter where it was.

Reason #3: Bombs!

Readon #4: Intercepting everything, including bombs!

In the end, we failed at the end of the first half to pull off a pickup/handoff/GFI play (failed on the handoff) to score. Second half we nearly prevented a DE score, but lost out in the end.

GG the_Sage. I think you're better equipped to take on those Tearful Actors anyway. Best of luck against SvenS.

As Maysrill said, it was an amusing game.
First half the orcs had it rough. Lots of pushes, especially the first 3 turns, while Rarakod KO'd Orgrin Doomhammer, thus effectively halving the Orcs' already limited hitting power.

With both teams having strip ball but neither having sure hands, the ball must have changed hands at least 3 times. Both Mayne and Lorthemar were a big threats. While Mayne was BH (apo'd) after 2 or 3 succesful sacks (including a double pow on a -2die on the delf), the Orcs still needed their wiz to get half a grip on the ball. This left them out of formation, and the ball was stolen again. Then the Orcs' delf made a 1die on the ball, intercepted the dump-off, and rolled skull-reroll-skull.

In the end both the orcs and the delves nearly made 1-0, but a snake on the delves turn 8 left the score 0-0 with the wiz used and the delves receiving.

Second half TotSQ lost the ball as well, bombs were intercepted, then fumbled, and later intercepted and thrown, and Mayne proved himself very much worth the apo, making a leap/sack/pickup/run for the game.

A very fun match with tons of tense moments, against a great opponent. I definitely luckier dice, especially considering I made it past orcs, a wiz and a dp with 11 elves, without suffering any SI.

Next up is a match with in AV8 elves with a ST4 pomber on one team, and AV8 elves with a ST4 pomber on the other team.
