In what was effectively the team's first match after the round 1 game was called off, Nuffle seemed disinterested in the efforts of the necromantic side and much more interested in what their dark elf counter parts were doing.
Pushes, failed piling on, blunt claws, general lack of purchase on anything meant that each consecutive play seemed to be a tightening of the elf circle on the ball or a waltz when with it. Some poor strategy by me didn't exactly help matters either. Most fouls failed to even pass armour until eventually I just gave up with them.
The wizard did likely avert OT by changing a probable 1-0 to 0-1 (so potentially 2-2 by the end) so was a crucial inducement.
I basically needed my wolf to do more damage, my blodge to survive at least a couple of the critical hits, and my mighty blow and tackle to crack skulls and eat rerolls. When none of the above really happened, and Emanukio's plays generally came off without a single critical turnover, it was probably one of his easiest and more comfortable wins.
The 1 in the 3-1 was a consolation. After being turned over and failing to even get close to stopping the 2nd before giving away the 3rd, a comeback was never on the cards.”
