#13 Fat Killa – Dead (RIP)
#15 Ice Funk – Dead (RIP)
#16 Phat-Rider Buster – Fractured Arm (MNG)
I figure my only mistake this game was placing fat man ice towards the edge on turn 1. Playing towards the middle made more sense overall.

After fatman used a reroll and didn't earn a knockdown on the warpstone witch I knew he was toast for the half. But to boot he got BH. I figured I had enough firepower with my remaining blockers to leave him on the bench. Seeing how I still had 4 guys with either claw or MB. I ko'ed 2 of his loners which didn't do much to help matters. In turn 4 he used his wizard and the ball bounced out to my DP who proceeded to get BH that turn. He recovered the ball and ran away with it.

I put some pressure on turn 6 for him to score and he did. Riot forced me to lose a turn on the kickoff.

In the second half my KO did not return and the heat meant I lost 4 players. Down to 7 vs 11 to start the half. I lost my super hob in turn 1. With only 3 players standing I took a blitz and didn't do much with it. After that I got my rookie hobgoblins killed. I apothed one of my blockers. Not much to report just a beat down. I put some blocks in for the final turn but didn't do any damage.

2-0 loss. Heat and riot along with a bad ball bounce after the wizard ruined my chances for any chances at winning.

WO VIII Semifinal

pre-Match:

In the quarterfinals, Old School DJ skilled their +AGblodge bull, getting sure hands. As a result, I realized my strip baller would be useless. I decided to fire him.
Then before I had done so, lawman fired his mino. So, I made the tough decision to fire 2 excellent superstar positionals: Sacker Blitzer Mayne II and Hitter Witch Etanafu IX. With a -AV on the witch and two niggles on the blitzer, I knew they would be a liability.
This decision gave me some loners for the LoS, less vulnerability for my key players, and a wizard to pop the ball where Mayne could not have.

As for the game itself:
The game started with 2 suprises: the weather was bloody hot, and lawman didn't buy his team a wizard of their own. Losing the toss, my elves set up in a forward dense formation, encouraging the cdorfs to pick a side for offense, without committing to a side for defense.

He picked a side, and I planned to set up his clawpomber for a surf (or inactivity) on the next turn. On my first block, I immediately made the mistake of not using juggernaut. I got off very lucky as the clawpomber rolled pushes on his return blitz, thus letting me surf him the next turn (BH, no apo).

A double powpush followed by a snake meant I missed a second surf and got out of position, but the dwarves stayed close and huddled around the ball without caging. The wizard popped the ball, a hobo caught it but was blitzed to pieces, and a dodge and a pass later the TD was secure.

After a single turn's stall and a handoff to skill a blitzer, the dwarves suffered some more rough luck. A riot cost them their chance at a 2TTD.

Second half, Nuffle watched over my team as the heat took 4 of his 11 reserves, and none of my 10. This very safe position was consolidated when a cas on not-quite protected vampire-hobo RIP-man-buster completely sealed the deal, leading to a final score of 2-0.

While I suspect I might have stopped a 2TTD without the riot, the weather and the bounce were indeed very very lucky factors to the win.
