“The Damned found themselves, once again, standing is a desert, watching the drifting sands. Yet this time, it was a pack of cursed skeletons and mummies who were taking to the pitch, and the sounds of the creaking bones was maddening.

"They're just bones," Jonas call out to his team, "so get out their and bury them."

The kick dropped in short behind the wall of tomb guardians, once it riot that had erupted at the start of the match had subsided, as the khemri began their slow advance forward, caging the ball behind the line,, in a perfect "short bow" formation. So, "Moose" lit up one of their mummies who had encroached upon his personal space, removing the mummy for the rest of the drive. The khemri responded by repeatedly knocking down members of The Damned, but could not advance the ball any further, as they were surrounded. The repeated attempts to smash a hole through the defense finally left the khemri out of position, as blitzer Trent Lynch rushed in and leveled their star thrower, fracturing said thrower's arm in the process, and sending the ball bouncing away. The thrower would regenerate from the injury, but at least he was gone from the pitch for now. Simon now made a break for the endzone, as the khemri found themselves without enough players to cover the ball. Blitzer Remy managed a spectacular pick-up into a pass for the first touchdown of the match. 1-0, Damned. With a poor kick-off and a few more hits from each side, the first half ended.

A bumbled pick-up attempt, and we found ourselves with several skeletons standing directly in front of the ball. So, we took a few of they down, gathered the ball, and took off for the upper widezone, to pass off to Simon awaiting there. Unfortunately, the catch was bobbled, as the ball fell behind him, dangerously close to the edge of the pitch. Simon was able to recover the ball and retreat a few steps behind some coverage, but the khemri flanked the coverage and surrounded him. But before anything could be done Simon dodged out and sprinted halfway down the field, with Jonas following behind for coverage. The khemri got their revenge, as a tomb guardian blitzed down Simon removing him for the rest of the match. Surround, Jonas did the only think he could: blitz away one of the defenders, grab the ball, and dodge away. Of course, he fell just short of the goalline, but with a block gone wrong, he was back on him feet, and in the endzone, with the ball, on the following turn. 2-0, Damned.

A bad kick gave the khemri their opportunity that they had been attempting to make all day. The rushed in, cut one way, cut the other, and as the last seconds ticked away, stepped over the goalline. Better late than never.
