After getting hit with 10/11 cas in my previous two games vs Calcium I was hoping for some better dice and I got them. As I suffered the much more manageable 5 cas.
I decided to take an extra lino, apoth, and of course the wizard.
The extra lino came in handy in turn 1 as he suffered a perm. By turn 3 I only had 6 players left on the field. I figured down three players it was time to use the wizard. Luckily he knocked down 3 players including the ball carrier. My sure handed guy got the ball. Although he took 8 block dice he was able to hold onto the ball and drive the field for a 6th turn TD. I kicked deep but Calcium was able to get to the ball. On turn 8 he failed to handoff and the half ended 1-0.
I got the ball to start the second and luckily Calcium's crappy defense let me develop an easy cage on his side of the field. I scored easily on turn 2. Calcium scored on turn 4. Calcium setup a better defense. But I was able break through on turn 7 for another TD. Sealing the win.
Overall the only disappointment was losing my superstar wardancer for a game on a failed apoth. However, on a postive note the apoth did keep him from suffering a perm. This should lead to another wizard opportunity for next round.”
