“Oh sweet nuffle, how I pulled out this tie I'll never know. The Wheelchair rats beat the necromantic stuffing out of us the 1st half, but Ambrosio kept his head and was able to get the TD in T8. I am rather proud of myself for also keeping my head and not getting discouraged. Canola naturally tied it up on the rat's T8 and so I went into the 2nd half tied, kicking to the Wheelchairs, and outnumbered 12 (or maybe it was 11 at this point) to I think 7. A Blitz! kickoff result allowed me to put that monster Carter into the dirt (not for good, sadly) and I conceded the other side of the field. However, through a series of events, the speedy wolves were able to get close to the ballcarrier and he was spooked into an early score. Now I was outnumbered 11 to 6 and was thinking how can I just keep the ball away from the rats. Through another series of events Ulfhednar got within scoring range but I just knew for sure that the rats would swarm him and steal the ball. Then Nuffle struck and Coach Acheron made what I consider his only mistake of the game: he threw a block against a player of mine far away from the ballcarrier and quad-skulled! I still had to make a GFI to score but Ulfhednar deftly made it and now it's tied 2-2. I still had no realistic hopes of holding onto the tie, when Nuffle gave me a very nice kick followed by a botched Sure Hands roll for rat Joe! Again, the speed of the wolves came to the rescue and I was able to mark both the ball and Joe. From there it was just me clinging to the cliff's edge by my fingernails (and the wolves' claws) and the hard fought struggle ended in an inconceivable tie. Coach Acheron was a great sport about it, but I'm sure it had to hurt deep inside.

Enjoyable match regardless of the outcome, and a great coach for chatting with throughout the entire game. I have been reluctant to chat with coaches of late, but this game might see me come out of my shell again. I hope to play Coach Acheron143 again and more coaches like him. And I hope I can keep the same attitude I had in the 1st half when the 2nd half doesn't always go the way this one did.

Thanks for a very fun game, Acheron. I will beat these rats some day ;) (I'm 0-1-1 against them so far).

Updated: I know this report is too long, but I had to mention that this is the Crusaders first tie. It's fitting that it should be giving by the same team that gave my Charnelhouse_Dune undead team it's first loss. These rats are starting to become a nemesis for me :) Good, I need a healthy rivalry.”
