“This match was a tale of two sides for the skaven. For the first 11 turns skaven players couldn't have their armour broken but were unable to complete basic plays. 2+ dodges, 2+ passes, and the like. They also were gangbusters at breaking armour and injuring people.
The second half turn 3 or 4 finally saw the skaven skill players show up and it rained tds. Unfortunately, the game ended before we had a chance to really explore that concept and tie the game.”
“Our Slannish squadron lined up for the first drive on defense with great hopes for our newest member, Evander Clearbrook. He had a few jitters for his first time on the pitch, but he soon got over them when on the first hit of the game he died, killed by a rat we had barely though anything of. Discouraged that their new teammate, being reduced to a splatter on the pitch, would never truly get to play bloodbowl the fragile frogs kept crumpling like paper.
In spite of the weak will to survive, the death of the newest frog to hit the bloodbowl scene stirred up the inner catcher in them; the Green Trampoline jumped all over the place capitalizing on every ball that they could reach. Since our warted weaklings couldn't seem to break that tough skaven armour we just decided to score, score and score some more! We went into the second half up two points, down 4 frogs and an apoth, and receiving.
The second half saw our heroic slann slowly crumbling beneath the lack of froggish resources. Our warted warriors got outscored in the second half, but finally breaking the mighty skaven armour to make up for it with a whole 2 kos on separate drives.
Fortunately for our greenskinned greats we only got outscored in the second half by 2-3 bringing us to a narrow 5-4 victory over the vile vermin who challenged us.
It was a bloody battle (cold blood only), but in the end victory was determined by the webbed hands that held the ball tightly.”
