“The northmen of Valhalla ventured into a haunted forest and were beset by a group of ravenous necromantic spawn. They were joined by a traveling dwarf named Boomer, who was worth the gold spent to hire him on. The norse got off to a good start with an early CAS, but regen worked. Then Nuffle decided to Pile On, burning rerolls and plaguing our KO rolls. 2nd half started grim, and the vikings were unable to stop the score. Buliwyf was fouled off the pitch, and Nuffle kidnapped the apothecary, forcing us to accept the injury (I rerolled the exact same result). Helfdane was getting angry and slammed into Didus, a Flesh Golem. In his rage, he unwisely opted to reroll a Both-Down into double Skulls and was beheaded. Just when things seemed hopeless, Nuffle then glanced over at the necrotic fiends. Two early turnovers and a timely stun on a werewolf bought Weath the opening and time he was looking for. But Nuffle wasn't done, and Yorkish made a tremendous play to save the tie (dodge, 2 gfi, 2 die block with no Tackle or rerolls = POW). Weath was down but not out. His companions rallied to him, and he was able to get the ball and score with time running out. The final turn of the game saw Didus knock himself down, only to see Halga unable to do more than bonk heads with Houron.

We will miss Helfdane tonight. We will miss his sword.
