The Scarfaced Scavengers dressed in their pink attire marched on to the field ready to represent the might of the Chaos Dwarves in the Chaos group.

Their first opponents Death to be a Winner a Nurgle team complete with their own greater Spawn, a giant Slug with tentacles protruding from its fold of decaying flesh.

The game kicked off with the Chaos Dwarves receiving having won the coin toss. But the Nurgle team has other ideas, while the Chaos Dwarves dressed in pink were posturing or possibly put off by the stench emanating from the Beast of Nurlge and the Nurgle Warriors, the Nurgle team caught the Chaos Dwarves flat footed and Blitzed into their opponents' half before their kick had landed. This was indeed a problem for the Dwarves, they now found most of their team locked by the higher St of their opponents. One Chaos Dwarf was free from a tackle-zone though and punched a hole in the Nurgle teams defence which lead to a string of blocks freeing them from the Nurgle hordes.

Once the followers of Hashut had freed themselves up their mighty mutant Bull Centaur Stompy ran up to the ball and picked it up.

The Nurgle defence was solid though and the Chaos Dwarves were probing for openings while Stompy kept his distance from the opposing Pestigors.

As the time ebbed away a weakness was spotted on one flank and the two Bull Centaurs made their move Tramples supporting Stompy with two lowly Hobgoblins providing some cover.

Then as the players grew tired and both teams training went out the window. A Pestigor tried to take down a Chaos Dwarf Blocker, but he would not be moved and smashed the Pestigor to the ground for his impudence.

All that was left now was for Stompy to wind down the clock and score in dying moments of the half.

Although the Blocking was fairly even with the Chaos Dwarves slightly shading it at half time they had still not managed to KO a single player, while the Nurgle team had managed to Badly Hurt one Hobgoblin. With their slight numerical advantage the Nurgle team tried to foul a Chaos Dwarf Blocker as the Chaos Dwarves kicked with only seconds remaining in the first half. But the foul failed and the Elven referee spotted the foul and ejected the Rotter from the game. Leaving the teams 10 a side.

The second half kicked off and the Pestigors screened the ball off from any possible threat. The Beast and the Nurgle Warriors then started pushing the Chaos Dwarves about though only two were knocked over including one that was blitzed by a Pestigor. Then the remaining Pestigor picked up the ball with ease.

The Chaos Dwarves stood their ground though happy with their 1-0, on two occasions the Chaos Dwarves were presented with chances to attack the ball carrier though both times would have been fairly risky moves requiring a string of Blocks to go their way and would also involve leaving one of their Bull Centaurs isolated in the opponents half. Instead the Chaos Dwarves stuck to their game plan and formed a solid screen in the middle of the pitch preventing the Nurgle team from progressing.

The Nurgle Rotters started tiring and one suffering a fractured skull and damaged back and another was killed. Buoyed on by the sacrifice their team mate made the Pestigors made their move, darting around the Chaos Dwarf screen with a few minutes left on the clock. Then tying up the rest of the Chaos Dwarf team with their remaining players. The Chaos Dwarves armed with their greater repertoire of skills blocked a couple of players free and blitzed the Pestigor ball carrier next to the wide zone. The ball stayed on the field though and the Chaos Dwarves made no attempt to pick up the ball, instead placing a number of players around the ball. Things were now looking grim for the Nurgle team. Their fallen players stood up and tried to make the most of the situation, but it wasnt to be, the Chaos Dwarves then pushed the Pestigor leading the charge in to the crowd and they were safe. They then blocked any players they could over and protected the ball. Moments later the ref blew the final whistle.

1-0 to Scarfaced Scavengers, next up Chaos.
