“There was some early hope as we faced a Lizardman team without bench or Krox on the day but our 3 Ogres just couldn't achieve much first half. After a failed attempt a skink got at key ball carrier Little Lord Lucan and with a clash of heads ended his match. The ball got to another snot and so despite a struggling, slow advance Big Daddy saw a great chance to hurl him forward for a quality td. However he threw a bit weak and the snot stumbled and fell to injury after pressure from a skink. Failed by the narrowest of margins but after that failed throw there was no way back for us. The skinks got the ball and the Ogres were too dumb or clumsy (Haystacks Break Tackle skill failing him) to get back at them.
A long kick prevented us from a scoring chance at the end of the half.
Second half the Lizards rushed through but Big Daddy saw a chance to blitz the carrier. Alas he was not spry enough and fell. 2-0 and it had become one sided.
But in the third quarter of the match Giant Haystacks had woken up furious from his stupor and scored 3 cas including what seemed like a Saurus kill when he did his jumping off the top rope impersonation, but the apo saved it.
The Lizards then kicked short and blitzed us, a great combo which led to them making it 3-0 as a skink dashed off with the ball. Then on our next receive the lizards reformed on the line of scrimmage to limit our hits. But Brat did get the ball and Big Daddy finally managed a success as he hurled Brat foward for a consolation td. Tough game but fun.
A woeful streak for us but still we say "Go Ogres!".”
