However, the dice were so dismal throughout that at no point did we ever have a prayer in hell. Nuffle decided there would be no close match today. Block after block, the lizards couldn't take the elves down to save their eternal lives, not even the ones the lacked block and dodge. Those that did occasionally go down were impervious, shirking off Mighty Blows, Piling On, and Dirty Player gang-fouls. The elves managed to Pow on nearly every block, and by the end of the first half had taken the ball, executed a 5-turn stall, KO'd 3 saurus and a skink, while the lizards could only manage a single KO on a rookie lineman.

Kicking to the elves, the typical dicey nonsense ensued for the lizards–– failed GFI and BH at the worst moments, total failure to knockdown. The elves absolutely smashed them, despite only throwing half as many blocks. The elves scored again on turn 10. Needing 2 TD to tie in 6 turns, the Lizards would need some major player advantage, and fast. But try as they might, they never could remove any players, and thus could never threaten or impede the ball-retrieving Elf blitzers, thus making the whole 'taking the ball' part just a useless waste to time. Even enticing the elves to score to allow more LOS blocks proved worthless. Nuffle just wasn't having it.

Our star saurus managed 2 blocks in the whole game, thanks to his strategy of performing a useless block at the start of each drive, and then being KO'd into oblivion. Somehow, he still picked up the MVP. His days on the team are said to be numbered.

Well played game, Azure. I wish we could have been in a position to give you more of a challenge, but it was not to be.
