#90 Hubris Rakarth – Broken Jaw (MNG)
Well this looked awfully bleak.

A silly pimped team that feeds on far smaller teams, playing down in its last 32 games. And rarely faces tackle or MB grows to absurd size with a hilarious races faced table (click stats on the team), with 11 awesome elves, and enters a major.

It draws the 'biggest i had, at 1730, but i better enter' team of the Tourney Manager. A street fighting DE team. Basically a mirror but far smaller. I'd have a guard. he'd have a guard, blodge SS jump up facing him.

I knew I wouldn't challenge, but to be honest you don't want to go out to a team as cheesy as this.

So i hired a wiz, a merc DP, a bribe and Hubris Rakarth (DP, MB, str4) Hoping for pows and follow up fouls.

He won the toss and kicked to me. While busy overpowering me and eventually breaking into the backfield he ignored Hubris, possibly thinking i wouldnt waste spp on a star and allowed me an easy mid half TD. I probed and looked for possibilities for a wiz or hit on the return drive, but got overpowered and smushed, and left utterly devoid of position. I accepted it and waited and we went in 1-1. His Ko rolls were terrible, 1 from 3. i got 4 of 4 back i think.

Second half his STR5 SS blodger has the ball again but he leaves a slight openiing for an easy one die (only 3 GFI) or a tougher 2 die, needing a 3+ dodge through a tz, and a 2+ out of it + the GFI's. I tried that and failed, but it paniced his position and after some unlucky dice left the ball still exposed. So i wized it. it bounced very kindly leaving it easy to fasion a pick up in one TZ and scoot away with it and bring some cover. i stalled a turn but couldnt any longer as the elves he had left all bore down on me, and all are evilness itself. any one can ruin your day. So i scored.

He drove back again, taking my offered weaker flank and bottling himself up on the edge, this allowed me to build a decent wall and while his str5 broke through easily it brought only (only!) the str4 ag5 leaper with it. But it did give me very easy 2 die, or moderately easy 2 die. I braidfarted and chose the 1 die, luckily it powed and the ball went to one of the guards i had on him. i reinforced as best i could and got lucky with a foul on the str5 taking him out for the final turn. his blitz back failed and we won.

It was 90% Nuffle, but i don't care. The cheesers went down. Glory be.
