The sky grew dark over the city and the reptilian eyes of passersby glinted golden in the glow of the streetlights. Mothman was his usual reluctant self, but he eventually gave in to the pressure of the group and took the field.

Right from the outset heavy blows were landing left and right. The villain Borrnizz crushed The Comedian with a thunderous block, leaving him badly hurt on the pitch. The Comedian was carted from the field of battle and tended to, but that was the end of what the medical team was able to do for the group of heroes. The very next turn Mothman exacted revenge on the reptiles - Lorrnizz, twin brother to Borrnizz - was sent unceremoniously to his grave. The apothecary euthanized his crippled form in the locker room.

From this juncture forward, every block carried with it the air of impending doom. Lalli managed to secure the ball deep and bring it forward into a loose cage, but Mothman pushed Torrnizz to the side and stood face to face with Lalli. All of Lalli's protectors left him alone to dodge away from Mothman - and as he did he went crashing to the turf, breaking his neck in the process. Ozymandias wasted little time in swooping in to scoop up the spiked ball and running for paydirt. Though he was repeatedly pressured by Torrnizz, Slibli and Borrnizz, in turn six Ozymandias dodged free and crossed the touch line for the first score of the contest.

Watchmen Philosophy 1, Rraavvaattzzeewwaa 0.

The kickoff that followed caught the Watchmen fans still celebrating the initial score, and they were trampling the Rraavvaattzzeewwaa players left and right as the fans stampeded about the field. With the impact of the marauding fans there was little chance for a score as the only scoring threat - Lalli - was sent off injured for the remainder of the match.

The second half began with only ten players able to take the field for Rraavvaattzzeewwaa. The Watchmen hoped that they would be able inflict some early damage and head home after burning time of the clock for the majority of the second half. Rraavvaattzzeewwaa had other ideas. The group of villains managed to corner Dr. Manhattan and shove him into the intrinsic field experiment test chamber, locking the door securely in place. With a maniacal laugh, Salli flipped the switch and Dr. Manhattan was torn into a million particles of energy, ending his existence in all forms.

The Watchmen swore to avenge their fallen friend and took to the Rraavvaattzzeewwaa like savage dogs, driving them from the field. Then, just as suddenly, turn six saw them running away like dogs themselves. Self-preservation had finally gotten the better of the Watchmen and they fled to the corners of the fields to escape the final revenge being plotted by the villains. In the end, justice did prevail - though it is certain that the Rraavvaattzzeewwaa are already plotting their return.
