“Jovan's vicious Dark Elves gave us some foul pummeling on the ground but after something like a bloodlust hit them in the second half we managed to dodge through for a win.

Hearts of Darkness started with a great long, wide kick which Teclis Dart retrieved. As we knocked some linos down Syrius X dodged through their lines. Gijimata blitzed him down and three dark players gave him a brutal kicking. So much so he seemed dead! Our apo proved himself by saving the lino from any long term hurt. Speed Kills needed all his team training not to be knocked down in a block and then Lorello Smooth was, and was badly hurt. It was a tough start. Teclis was then put under pressure but he dodged away and passed to Speed Kills, whose nerves of steel helped him catch and then he zipped away. Teclis was knocked down and fouled for his arrogance and Speed Kills made the TD.

We did a short, wide kick and while Mohaska picked up their other players crowded us in the middle. Speed Kills couldn't make a path so we pulled back and spread out. A lino was fouled out and then their Witch Elf charged into our rookie catcher. There was a loud clash of heads and both players fell down injured. We saw our chance and took down the carrier and surrounded the ball. After a series of Dark Elf fumbles in the ruck Tyrion ended up with the ball. He got it away to Galad but a slip from Othello meant we weren't clear yet. He was badly hurt and the Hearts of Darkness had the ball once more. But there wasn't quite enough time for them to equalize as we covered their nearest outlets and the blitzer carrier tripped up.

Second half we were at just 7 v 10 players and Teclis was quickly ko'd and hauled off. When Ultra was fouled and badly hurt (finally a Dark Elf was sent off) it looked like we would collapse. But Mohaska went forward without cover and two of our linos dodged out and got him down. On the edge of the pitch then Tristus fumbled the ball and it was thrown by a Hearts fan into the middle of our half! It looked like we were screwed but with surf and pickup chances on the Dark Elves went for another gang foul. The ref sent one off and Syrius could recover and rescue the ball. He dodged away from the incoming blitz and produced a near end to end play as it went through Othello to Speed Kills who escaped to the other end of the pitch. It was 2-0 and all over bar a couple more poor Elves bashed and ko'd.”
