“After a touchback the Raptors smashed down Elves straight from the kickoff but not hard enough to make any leave the field and the Krox stood dumb. As most of their side went along one side a skink darted through our lines. Speed Kills caught him, powerfully tackled him down and the little Lizard's match was already over. Then there was a tight block and blitz battle on the flank, each side trying to force an opening. Speed Kills managed a strong hit to ko a saurus and a line elf also went off, but nothing serious. Tacuarembo got nervous and raced off for the first TD.

On receiving some Elves went forward but couldn't shift a Saurus down so after Teclis passed the ball to Speed Kills he held in the centre. Moments later he saw a chance to knock a skink aside and we took the flank. Their strong skink, Tacuarembo, dodged through our screen lithely and blitzed the carrier but couldn't quite bring him down and Maldonado, a Saurus, was surprisingly cas'd by Lorello when it tried to hit him. Speed Kills saw we were on the up and scored.

After blitzing the Lizards we survived the last turn and got to the second half with 11 v 9. It looked good but Speed Kills and Tyrion charged Tacuarembo hoping to pick him off. But despite all his team training SK was smashed back down with surprising ease and fell down hurt (quad skulls!). The Lizards whooped and it seemed our overconfidence could be our downfall as the skink came and took the ball in our half. But Death or Glory leaped in and smashed it back while Syrius regained the ball. It was back near our end zone and still not safe as he too was brought down but with the clash of heads the key skink also was stunned. Teclis rescued the ball and then Lorello took it on. He had a long way to go but the players were spread and he left many of the skinks behind him. After that we just managed to cover his advance, though a mistake did let 1 Saurus have a push at him. Lorello was also up to defending Tacuarembo's sneak attack and got the crucial TD. End to end stuff. Brave line elfs tieing up Salto, the Krox, throughout the match certainly helped our cause.

There was still time for the Raptors to do something but they were tired and with some ball juggling happening then Death or Glory had a chance to attack. He was foiled but we crowded in and a journeyskink fluffed his lines to leave us with the win.

The Raptors gave us a fun and challenging game here. Fortunately they didn't hit us at full strength.
