XFL VIII Halflings - Round 2

A truly great game of stunty BB.

Morg was enlisted to aid our quest for glory. It started badly as one of the warriors hurt himself and an agile fling was thrown over to score; 0-1 and the fans were still taking their seats!

The next drive didn't get off to a much better start as the ref immediately sent off the weakest of fouls. However soon the ball was in Morg's hands and the trees were left behind. 1-1 and the TTM fell short for Khor, leaving it all to play for in the 2nd half.

The wizard's fireball smashed Khor's fouler and the ball was spilled. The remaining warriors seized it and advanced towards the goal line, the opposing 'flings unable to stop them. It became 4 vs 4 in a fling on fling tussle and I opted to score rather than risk not scoring. Alas I should probably have stalled more and this may or may not have won the game.

As it was, 2 turns proved enough for Khor to equalize with a TTM touchdown. Overtime! He won the toss, and for the 3rd time achieved the TTM to win.

#6 Kam "Fling violent non interné" – Dead (RIP)
#12 2° E. Ducommun – Smashed Hip (-MA)
Pleasant match against a great coach.

This "without tree" team is pretty interesting for these mirror games, as trees are not indispensable to stop/kill dodgers. I was aware it would not be an easy win.

As Chainsaw said, I had a pretty good start and my TTM's "never" failed (just once, at the end of 1st half). Those things and winning the toss for the overtime were crucial times.

I had some difficult choices to make, and I've made some mistakes that could have been very costly (or were costly). I had to stop Morg after he caught the ball, but my ag4 guard was too far, my trees were getting thirsty and my av4/5 were to afraid to tickle Morg.

2nd half started well for Chainsaw, with a well played PD to pressure my ag4, and using the wiz to get the ball (as he explained). I tried to limit his stall, but I wanted to keep my last rr for a TTM - difficult decisions.
Luckily Chainsaw didn't stall enough, but I was in range to blitz him if he didn't go to score. With my ag4 KOR fling and 2 turns to score, it was not impossible to equalize. I've built it well, but was stopped by a block failed, forcing me to keep my last rr for the TTM next turn, but exposing my BC to Morg (with 2 gfi's). Morg failed the last gfi, so the TTM was easier to make. 2-2 before OT.

Overtime: receiving, I planned to move forward with my trees, a big and thick cage to get closer to the end line. But both trees took root in 2 turns, so I decided to try the TTM with my last reroll, as Chainsaw didn't put anyone back to stop a TTMer. This 3rd TTM worked, I only had to run, and I've finally scored. Phew!

Congrats to my opponent, he made a great match well using every inducements and players. Like in my 2nd round match, I was saved by my two ag4's, who failed very few rolls.

I was pleased to be matched with Chainsaw in this XFL, and I hope we'll fight again in the next one!
