Very tight game. The Monsters put on an excellent first half. Their Ogre performed sterling work in the center field. A lucky 1D block by an Orc Blitzer got the ball loose. It was swept up by Urduz deep in the orc back field. Only the clock running out save the Urdz' from conceding a touch down.

Second half began well for the orcs, swarming the defense on the left of the pitch while a luckless Bob and two linemen attempted to hold of an Ogre, 2 linemen and 2 blitzers. The orcs were overzealous in their pursuit of blocks and left a gap for one of the Monsters blitzers. A lucky 1D block sent the ball loose. It was tidied up by the Monsters and passed down field to their thrower, who dropped the ball next to him. Things looked grim for Urduz.

Punching a hole in the humans defense the orcs got too blitzers to cover the ball. It wasn't enough though and, on the next turn, a human catcher sprinted for the orc end zone. Next turn a block by a orc blitzer sent the ball loose again. That same turn the human gave into orc bashing and almost all ended up on the turf. Two turns of stalling later the orc's had a touch down with one turn to go.

A great game all round, my opponent never gave up trying and applied pressure through to that fateful bash-tastic turn.

#13 Craig Bayliss – Smashed Hand (MNG)
"Hi there sportsfans! Chad Chaddington here, your host for this 145 Open League game between the Monsters of the Midlands and Urduz and the Wanderers. Tonights game featured two young teams packed full of the stars of tomorrow, desperate to carve out a name for themselves.

What some of these lads may have lacked in talent they more than made up for with enthusiasm and the first half was a tight nip and tuck affair. The Monsters should probably gone into half time 1-0 up, a sentiment obviously shared by the coach as several players emerged for the second half with more injuries than when they went in.

The second half saw the Orc boys atart to dominate both possession and territory, and it eventually paid off for a very well deserved score at the end of the game.

This game had it all, skill, violence, incompetence and most excitingly randomness that kept the 14,000 fans entertained up to the final whistle and was an excellent game to cover.

Until next time sportsfans, this is Chad Chaddington signing off,
