Thx for the shout out there. All I can say is that I am still hurting over the choice to use the thrall to block your rat rather than bring him upfield for a post-td snack... That and the 2db block-die roll at the end left me feeling dumb, but the rest can be put down to hellish bad luck, even when it came to the Rats' H1 dodge/handoff near my end zone (though the latter was unnecessary). That being said, H2 was a gong show, and I don't see how it could have gone better with the dice behaving as they were. Plus the 1db block with a loner rat.... Heartbreaking.

Anyways, congrats to Smeat on the win. Hopefully if I see him in a rematch, it will be a bit more even in the luck department.

Tough matchup for the vamps, who had both their Thrall and Vamp Tacklers out MNG.

Rats chose to kick, and Good Coaching + Leader gave the Vamps a whopping 6 RR for the half - and they'd need them all. Turn 3 a pair of dodgey GR's marked the ballcarrier, and the Skaven Thrower GFI'd for a blitz with a Pow midfield - and the ball landed right in his hands. Very next Turn he was KO'd with a 1d Both-Down that left the ball unmarked, but a GR scooped it and passed it to another at the 2. The Blitz (unsupported by Thralls!) failed to down the dodger, and he tried a no-frills handoff to his 13 spp Ag 4 team mate - snakes put the ball on the ground, ending that threat.

A RR'd 2d Blitz could not drop the Blodgstepper vamp, who Turn 7 passed to a teammate on the 7 - but again unsupported by Thralls, and their last RR used to complete the Pass. The rats were able to mark the ballcarrier but the dodge for the 1d Blitz failed. Turn 8 a 3d Blitz moved the marker, but Bloodlust struck the ballcarrier, and the vamp ran into the endzone but failed to touch the ball down and ran straight on into the stands for a quick drink - no score, and leaving the ball on the 1 yard line. The rats had an odds-against T8 scoring play with no RR, but a 5 dice ROgre block could only find a Push then Both-Down, and that stopped that before it started, 0-0 at the half.

2nd half the rats' Thrower and a Lino failed to wake up, but the Vamps were out 3 Thralls, including their Leader, so had only 4 RR's this time. The Rats began a stall game, running back and forth, and the Vamps could not get the dice to cooperate when they had an opening, fails always coming in 2's, one early to eat a RR, and then one when it mattered. Meanwhile, more Thralls were being knocked off the field, and by Turn 4 the Vamps had only 3 Thralls remaining, scattered and isolated around the field, and had run out of RR, and out of luck. Two 2d Blitzes on the Blodge GR failed to find a Pow, and when a snaked GR dodge opened the door wide, a Both-Down block ended their Turn 7 early and allowed the rats to regroup, and the Turn 8 score ended their heroic struggle.

Respect to Coach Fantabulor, who never gave up, and never gave the Rats a moment to catch their breath.
