“Damn serious injuries :)

But hey, I've played undeads with this team and done quite well, so why not Khemri. My little boys looked rather disappointed at me, like children just being let down by their father. I assured them that they could easily win this match, and that they just had to stay away from the mummies and focus on the ball.
Cause we have team spirit, training and faith!!!

They still weren't convinced, so I decided to give them a surprise. For this very special game only, the legendary Deeproot Strongbranch was to join them!

The game started with Patience not showing up. The Khemri tried a quick drive, but one of their Thro Ra's fell on his feet and dropped the ball. No doubt the delicious cooking reminded him of something long lost....

After a quick run, a brave fling ran in picked up the ball and dodged away from the big, bad mummy and handed off to a mate, who ran for the endzone. 1-0.

The injuries were quite hard on my flings, all being SI, but again considered that we were facing off Khemri it wasn't something not to be expected.
Memo to self: never use the sentence "calculated risk" in combination with my flings or any of their body parts when around them...

The second touchdown almost got blown away by Tall and Mighty trippleskulling on me, but Deeproot saved the day by blitzing the ball into the hands of a waiting fling, who ran for the endzone. 2-0.

Second half I received, and made a quick drive up the left side of the field. It unfortunately grinded to a halt, when a fling tripped on his feet, and a thro-ra, blitzed my carrier. The ball was thrown in by the spectators and landed in the endzone.

None of the slow and ponderous undeads were within range, and every body held their breath when brave, veteran Egam Proudfoot managed to ignore his aching back long enough to dodge out, run like hell and pickup the ball for my third touchdown.

The last drive in the game DeepRoot strongbranch really proved why he was the star. Three times he managed to tag the reroll less Khemri Thro-ra, but to no avail. He dodged out like there was no tomorrow and after his third escape, my flings had to accept the fact he was going to make a touchdown. He must have been a dead Elf for sure :)

A nice, game against a fun opponent, and now my flings just have to lick their wounds and enjoy a good victory meal. ”
