A close fun game that went down to the wire. Handicaps were:

Smelling Salts
Bad Press
It Wasn't Me
Morley's Revenge (on 3 players)
Can't Remember What it Was (but it wasn't a biggy)
---------
The Rangers won the toss and surprisingly chose to kick. The Guardians could only field 10 of their available 11 with one Thrower rushing to the toilets just before kickoff.

However, they managed to score quickly to take a 1-0 lead, then put the Rangers on the back foot with a blitz! A Guardians catcher had the ball and was in scoring range, but chose to hand off to Thrower Gandarius Silverleaf to score instead and he tripped and knocked himself out as he entered the end zone! (This was hilarious, my catcher with the ball was on 122 SPP and I don't want him to get closer to the 126 roll so I dodged and handed off with no reroll left for the turn, and then failed my second GFI to deservedly lose the ball).

The Raiders recovered the ball and drove it downfield for an easy score to level the scores at 1-1, but not before the Guardians lost a Catcher on who was tackled and hurt himself (snake eyes on a dodge heh).

The Guardians scored again, and then were unable to stop the Rangers from leveling the scores.

With the last kickoff of the first half, the Guardians set up hoping for a quick score (one turner) to snatch the lead, but the Raiders pulled a defensive switch and the Guardians lost another Catcher on a failed dodge (4+ with reroll so 75% chance of success, but instead he badly hurts himself too LOL).

This left the Guardians with a miserable 7 players to start the second half and they were unable to stop the Rangers from scoring. The Rangers put up some strong defence, but the Guardians were able to score a reasonably difficult TD to level the scores at 3-3 with just less than half of the second period remaining.

The Guardians kicked off with 7 and were surprised to see the Rangers leave their ball carrier just in range of their defensive Catcher Falmallor Raindancer. Raindancer ran down and put a tackle zone on the ball carrier and shadowed him as he tried to dodge away and managed to trip him!

The Guardians recovered the ball and ran it into the corner to try and secure a win. The Rangers tried but failed to knock the ball free (2+ GFI, 4+ Dodge, 2+ GFI for a 2 dice blitz but his player rolled Snake-eyes on the second GFI) and the Guardians scored the winning TD.
-----------
A fun close game against a fun coach. We both had some bad luck (I rolled a stack of snake-eyes early) but mine was early in the game and his was at the crucial end where he could have secured a win or a draw so I certainly can't complain.

Certainly a coach worth playing.
