This game was one of the better back and forth games I have played in quite some time. It was nip and tuck the whole way until OT which really went my way in spite of the toss.

Pre-game, I won the toss and the fans and elected to receive. Ramtut was hired by Cavetroll and was assigned line duty from the get go. I guess he didn't like that as after turn 1 he was in the KO box (which was for this game interchangeable with the reserves for my opponent). A lucky one die block badly hurt I Ran (So Far Away), which was key. Though after having most of my players on the far side of the field stunned, Thing I went down the near sideline after 4 turns and a hand off to Sam I am, it saw Dr Suess up 1-0.

Despite the lack of I Ran (So Far Away), I want my MTV had zero problems picking up the ball, they charged down the far sideline and scored right before the end of the half, when legend Cult Of Personality blitzed through the Lorax and scored on turn 7 of half 1. Also during the drive Danger zone was fouled and killed, but was able to right himself right after suffering nothing but amnesia. Angry tiger was even thrown out, despite his sneakiness.

The ensuing kickoff the refs were both gotten to, and it also saw a botched one turn score attempt foiled after one bad move. After being wrestled to the ground, the Grinch was fouled by Don't worry be happy, and despite the bribe, was thrown out. Prior to this point, all the regeneration rolls for I want my MTV were successful, after this point they all failed.

The 2nd half saw I want my MTV run down the near sideline, leaving a loose cage within scoring distance for Cult Of Personality. However Cat in the Hat blitzed him, and jarred the ball loose. After half a dozen blocks, What's love got to do with it? dodged, picked up the ball and made a go for it, with no rerolls used and scored putting the game at 2-1 with 5 turns remaining.

Dr Suess caught the ball, returning the kick to the line of scrimmage, and the casualties started to mount. I'm Bad, Owner of a Lonely Heart, and most critically Cult Of Personality were all badly hurt with no regeneration. Also somehow Thing II tripped on Rock the Casbah, crushing his skull and no amount of help could put him back together again. On the final turn What's Love Got To Do With It? tried to do an improbable blitz failing, while Thing I went in for the score.

Tied 2-2 going into Overtime I want my MTV received the kick, but was only able to field 7. Ramtut III finally showed his value badly hurting Horton Hears a Who!, and What's Love Got To Do With It? was able to pick up the ball on the sideline. However that was all that went right for I want my MTV at that point, failing a dodge with reroll spelled the end as The Lorax picked up the ball and raced down the far sideline for the score. Ending the game 3-2.

This game was close throughout, and could have gone either way. Really no critical failures, on either side outside of the failed dodge in OT, and that decided the game. Great game by Cavetroll, but Dr Suess gets to move on to the next round and play the Orcs of maneetti.

#3 Rock the Casbah – Dead (RIP)
FUMBBL Cup XIII round 5 (round 1 BYE) Round of 32

The MTV generation had a great run, getting further in a major than any team I've coached before. They played well (and I feel I played well too), and we had a chance to win it until late in the 2nd half when the regen started failing and the CAS started piling up. The death of Rock the Casbah hurt greatly and will be hard to replace. Ramtut III was ok (first time I've ever hired him) when he was on the field, but he kept getting KO'd (though all my KOs came back every single time). But stealing the MVP was just uncalled for salt in the wound.

Good game against a good opponent who I felt from the beginning had the edge. But I was happy with the effort I put forth and was just sad that it all unravelled so quickly on a few lucky hits. The dice in the game definitely changed sharply several times both for and against each of us. Hopefully it was fun to watch.

GL the rest of the way, spinball. I'd have no objections to having played the winner, or to seeing orcs win a major for a change.
