“This game was one for the ages! After putting up a valiant and very costly defense in the 1st half, League ghoul Flipteez was able to blitz blodging GA Catcher Celdakar Kithranan, taking him down in the League endzone, then scoop up the loose ball and score with moments to spare in the half.

Gladius Argentum was able to score on its opening drive of the 2nd half, although the coach admitted he was very concerned about leaving the League enough time for a go-ahead score before the end of the game.

With GA again on defense, the League was looking to march down for the game winner. In what turned out to be an amazing play, the League fumbled a simple hand-off and Almarëhen Andaranco recovered the ball from between two League players and pulled off an astounding (7+ pass) downfield to a wide open Elendar Cuthalion who was able to avoid a last ditch blitz from Ike Turner.

Now up 2-1 all GA had to do was hold out the last 2 turns of the game... but with only 7 players that was no easy task. Then came a crucial decision. With only 1 turn remaining in the game, and only 3 League players in scoring position... Elendar Cuthalion decided to rush forward to recover the ball which had momentarily been dropped by one of the League's ghouls. Desperately trying to fling the ball deep into the League backfield, Elendar mishandled the pass and dropped it at his own feet. The League was able to secure a last moment touchdown when the normally less-than-reliable-receiver Ike Turner, attempting to make up for his failure to stop GAs last TD, made things look easy catching the ball and running in at the horn.

Overtime seemed to bode well for the normally quick scoring elves when they won the coin toss. However the League swarmed GAs 2 downfield receivers and surrounded them. As he attempted to blitz one of the League ghouls to free his teammate for the winning pass, the normally nimble Elendar Cuthalion was tripped up trying to escape the mass of 3 league players around him. With GA still preparing to score Elendar had the chance to break free and catch the winning ball himself...yet once again he was tripped up attempting to clear a mass of League players.

With GA unable to move the ball downfield, the pressure eventually let the League players take down the GA Thrower Almarëhen Andaranco. With the ball falling into the stands, some fans heaved the ball into the center of the League half of the pitch. League ghoul Franken Sense attempted to collect the ball, but mishandled it allowing GA Lineman Gondaron Gondithil the chance to snatch the ball and hurl it downfield. Missing the throw, the ball was nevertheless much nearer to the GA endzone.

The League however, greatly outnumbering the battered Elves at this point were able to secure the ball and attempt a throw deep toward their own endzone. Despite his strong arm and accuracy League ghoul Flipteez wasn't able to reach his receiver with the throw giving Gondaron another chance to be the hero.

With Elendar Cuthalion in perfect position to catch the potential game winning pass, Gondaron threw a blistering pass downfield...only to see the thickly wrapped arms of League mummy Cleopatra intercepting the pass!

With Cleopatra in position of the ball, but time running out, GA made a desperate bid to crowd the ball and tie up or cover all of the League's ghouls. Unfortunately there simply weren't enough elves on the field! Down to their last three players on the field, GA could only watch as the League moved the ball down field and prepared for a last second pass to a wide open ghoul.

As the seconds ticked down, on both the game and one of the teams season...League Ghoul Franken Sense fumbled the 1 square pass! End of game...

Nuffle, who seemed to have been teasing and taunting both teams throughout the game, finally chose a shootout winner... by a 3 to 2 roll... Gladius Argentum would move on to face their arch-nemesis Prague Impalers! And for the second year in a row, League of Bones would end their Evansville Cup run via OT Coin toss!
