#17 Ian Whitetree – Smashed Hip (-MA)
#18 Duane Deepfire – Damaged Back (NI)
The Gang Warriors escape from enemy territory with a draw and more or less in ok condition. But it was real tough.

Both sides had strong players missing the match. Straight off the Dwarfs blitzed us. Gram did a perfect short corner kick and brilliantly got under it and caught to avoid the touchback. Other Dwarfs swarmed the LOS. What a start. Snow then somehow took Gram down at the pitch edge, but it didn't help out much as an Eagle-eyed Braden Folly fan picked out one of the journey Longbeards who snatched the ball from the air despite the two Elves presence in front of him. Snow tripped up in shock. Gram was soon given the ball back and a Journey Elf had his hip smashed by Brad. But Snow saw another chance to take the ball and dodged in to take Gram down again, this time stunning him. Cleon's trip though meant we could not regain the ball. It wasn't looking good but Swan's sure hands got it back for us and despite some poor support blocking he dodged through the flailing Dwarfs and managed to evade them to score. But in the meantime Snow had needed apo help, Xavier was badly hurt, and two others were ko'd and did not recover for the next kick. We setup 7 v 11, kicked long and it ended 1-0 at half-time.
The ko'd players still didn't return for the 2nd half. Swan made an attempt to disrupt their drive but was smashed down after a couple of attempts and then hurt himself in a fall. Quickly followed by another cas, to Cleon, leaving our best players out. The Dwarfs scored their equalizer.
KOs returned so again it was 7 v 11. We were blitzed again! Fox couldn't see a comfortable way through and ended up just staying behind a limited screen, keeping away from the impressive Dwarfs. Snow went out but we did just enough to hold them off. In the last moments Fox tried to get out of our half but fell over leaving a last small chance for a Dwarf win. But (after another Elf loner was injured) the Dwarf Blitzer wasn't up to the task of making the play. So despite a weak performance overall from us we had the draw.

The Journey Elves took some pounding for us and will have to ply their trade in lower levels in future. While we have raised the funds for a new Witch Elf!

Dodgy Elves. A few dice rolls kept this game in order otherwise we probably should have won 2-0. The dark elves without any guard or stat freaks despite being about the same TV, really did not match up well against us.

But coach garyt1 did a fine job of keeping them in the game and holding us off for the tie.

Fun match, I am glad we were able to weed out those rookie journeymen for you!
