“UI XI Qualifier: Jade Lantern round 2

The Founding Fathers get more elves, and these were just as tricky as the last bunch. Possibly more so with the two really nice War Dancers. They won the toss and elected to receive. They would have received even if we had won the toss ;) The rowdy fans threw a rock and hit Flygge, even though the Che Erries had the FAME. The Tools' fans may be some of the rowdiest out there! Try as we might, we couldn't stop the score, and they even stretched the stall a turn longer than I wanted. So the Fathers decided to start inflicting some pain. It didn't force them to score any faster, but it did put them a man down for the next kickoff. There was a scary moment when Jefferson was not well protected and Madison was just barely in reach of the goal line. The elves took out Hamilton, but opted to leave both Jefferson and Madison alone. A lot of factors went into that decision as I discussed with coach Diceskill after the game, and I'm not sure if I would have tried the blitz on Jefferson if the roles had been reversed. But in the end, I was able to handoff to Madison and he scored on 2 gfis and a reroll. Second half there were double rocks thrown, but since it hit the Treeman and the dwarf I had marking him, it was a win for the Fathers and their rowdy fans! The kick was deep, but easily reachable and I caged up a bit in the backfield. The Fathers take no chances with two monster War Dancers roaming the field. Then we just rolled up the field and started removing elves. Most of them in fact. Flygge eventually got taken out with a smashed hip, and as both of us had used our apothecaries there wasn't much to be done except cart him off on a stretcher. Luftig made a lot of attempts on the ball but he had to keep using rerolls and never got anything good on the blitz. The last blitz he took a fist to the face from Jefferson. The Tools' took a few parting shots just in case there was something funny on the kickoff table but there wasn't. All the Stand Firm and Side Step made the one turn attempt virtually impossible without a Quick Snap and so the Che Erries threw some blocks and skilled up a line elf with a pass at the end.

The Founding Fathers move on the the Jade Qualifier final, but without Franklin. The apothecary gave me the choice between a Fractured Skull and a Serious Concussion. I had forgotten there were even two -AV rolls on the table. I'd like to keep him, but I'll have to see what our TV is against these Lizards and whether I'm better off with a new Blitzer.
