“When we lined up we saw nobody on the opposite side with tackle talent so had some good hopes but it mostly went way better than expected. Straight off Mercy blitzed and cas'd a goblin that tried to sidestep her. A skaven got the ball to their agile gobbo but we had them surrounded and were picking off other Gobbos while the Hardcore Lungs Skaven Blitzer couldn't cause damage. After going down to 8 Imanus was hurled forward by the Troll. He dodged through but due to a weak throw couldn't quite score before Cleon blitzed and ko'd him, and picked up. A rat was also badly hurt and we had just enough time to handoff and pass so Swan could score.
Second half a drop by Swan allowed a Skaven blitzer to get his hands on the ball when the Troll opened up space. But that was their last big chance to make an impact as the rat tripped up. Mercy then had no trouble scoring after a pass and the Warriors took more players out.
Two Happygrue fumbles after the next kick off left them in disarray and Ajax who came forward with support got the third.
Outnumbered the Troll almost ate a Gobbo and we got the ball once more. It didn't end up as a 4-0 with no casualties suffered though. Swan tripped up in the endzone! Then as the last action of the match the Goblins in the crowd were baying for Elf blood. Imanus did a blatant foul (special play) and fouled Snow in the head with a hidden weapon killing him! The apo could do nothing! So we bury a team member and consider life without a specialist kicker for a while. Of course Snow was posthumously awarded MVP to annoy the Warriors coach :( :D
But a win was there to be celebrated.”
