“Wild match that started off pretty average. The first half saw the Corgis kick to the smelly Dwarf side, facing the dreaded deathroller for up to 8 turns! Crap! The elfs played some decent defense, and made Coach Rbthma take a few chances to score. Ultimately, though, the dwarfs would go up by 1 at halftime.

Coach Pubstar engineered a pretty standard quick scoring elf drive, with a nice pass from Lady Snugglington turning into a running TD to tie the game. Standard stuff.

Then things got crazy!

The Blitz! kickoff favored elfs heavily, and the prime positioning combined with the dwarfs repeated failures to pick up the ball made an elf score inevitable. 2-1 elfs with just two turns to go!

The kick was deep, but fieldable. The dwarfs sent their most agile members down the pitch, hoping for a last second equalizer. The elfs swarmed, and marked both dwarf receivers. It looked like a long shot for Tharma Ullasdottir, seemingly miles from the end zone with only seconds to go! Tharma sprinted forward, completed a quick pass to a blocker, and watched that blocker sprint downfield, hoping for a handoff. It's good! Belegol Dimzadsson managed to grab the ball and take it home to a 2-2 final!

Really fun match with a skilled and sporting coach. Can't wait to face you next season, man!”
