“This is a sad, sad day. Kondor with his big mouth had threatened to kill Riner. He said it before the match began. He said it in the last match between one of Kondor's teams and the Test Pilots. He did not expect it to actually happen. Nearing the end of the first half, Haughty blitzed Riner knocking him prone. Then Bruce came in with the Hulks only foul of the game. Meant to put the team captain out of the match, the foul was much worse than intended. Riner Anver was no more.

It really took all of the wind out of the game. The crowd was silent. And Coach Kondor simply hung his head in shame that he had ordered the foul.
