We welcomed some little chaps into the shop today, Halflings like our sales crew, with their own big Trees and everything. As expected, not much of a day for sales here at Casualties R Us, but we can't turn these down, this is cup time! Puggy Baconbreath joined them, he's quite stable on his feet for a little guy.

Our ball, Cracked Ribs gathered it, secure in our half, then moved up to the big timber as we set for many different plans. Of course, their trees handled ours better than ours handled theirs, and then Puggy ducked in and nicked the ball when our guard was down. Leif couldn't knock him over, Frozen wasn't game without the guard, then neither was Ed as he hunted their annoying little guard instead. Hmm. Might have fallen for that one.

The lads got a bit out of place chasing some useless blocks up the blind, and they switched into open space. From there we never really caught up, always a struggle even with our superior speed, as of course the only wrestlers are a bit slower. Frozen gave it his all though, but the Lad could do with learning to jump up a bit quicker, save some rushing later. Leif stumbled, as did Frozen, and they walked it in just in time, Puggy sprinting to the line.

We blitzed them in the second, but too many set aggressive on the line to do much good. They switched again, but this time we covered easily, Leif starting to overpower his opposite, but Ed busy feeding again. Then Puggy put Frozen Shoulder out, opening their path and their little guard made life too hard on Creaky Knee. Luckier Break held landed the flying cover, got an even blitz, but then they had diving tacklers and sidestepping blodge guards in, not to mention superior numbers both our trees feeding back at the half. They walked in the winner and only bought a couple of cheap cas along the way.

Speed isn't everything lads, but it's the only way to survive the rigours of the usual visitors to Casualties R Us. Just look at who's survived!

#15 Chaosdida "dtc !" – Broken Jaw (MNG)
FUMBBL Cup XIV – First Round

This is my 5th participation to the FUMBBL Cup, and for the first time I enter my Flings! (I've tried LRB4 DE twice, LRB4 Zons and CRP Chaos once)

My team is usually built for XFL Flings tournaments, with some agile players, and young trees since Jim is dead. And it's a great draw here which offers a Flings vs Flings first round match!

Tussock chooses to buy a chef with his own gold. No problem, we buy it too and have 140k to hire Puggy. We lack blitzers so he seems like the ideal choice.
And what a choice! In the early turns, when our trees and flings tried to confine Casualties R Us in their own half, Puggy infiltrate their cage to blitz the BC. Pow! and then he catches the ball (thanks to NoS). Trees try to kill him but, with a nice sacrifice from my guard fling Karolan, Puggy survives and runs out of the carnage zone. Some flings try to help him and the others ones want to strip the ball, but Puggy stays strong until the endzone, to lead 1-0.

Tussock tried to outnumber us but with many blocks it doesn't work as exepected. And Karolan is back from being KO by a tree. Things seem easy, with Karolan using his KOR skill to secure the ball, even if a blitz helps Tussock to pressure the ball. My AG4 Flings run fast to a safety zone and trees stop the other guys in the middle of the pitch. We move with caution to do not be exposed to a counterattack. Things go well with Puggy scoring a second cas, and my guard fling and DT's to secure it more. Then it's an easy walking until the endzone, with some more fouls and blocks.

Grats to Tussock, he's done the best to stop my agile Flings, with only few mistakes and lots of courage and pugnacity. The match was pretty close and the result only depends on few choices and rolls. But Puggy and my KOR+guard fling were great enough to play at their best level. Hope it will work in the next rounds!
