“It was clear the Gang Warriors were deep in enemy territory again with almost the whole crowd (fame +2) against them.
Against a Guard heavy Norse team it looked like it would be tough to break their offence, but at least there was no tacklers in sight. The Norse advanced carefully as we tried to pick at their edges to limited effect, though Rembrandt ko'd one Norseman. Cimmerius was repeatedly diving tackle our warriors down to the floor. But with Fox block pow'ing Batar then he could help Cleon tackle down Cimmerius and that gave Rembrandt a chance against ball carrier Duan. He could only push but then Swan had his turn and he took down his foe! For a moment it seemed to be the breakthrough! The ball scattered off the pitch but then a Hunters Fan picked up the ball and tossed it back towards our endzone a few paces perfectly in to the only unmarked Norse player's hands! The Ulfwerener somehow caught it too. A real shock and though we marked him he easily got away and stalled out till half-time. We did push him over the scoring line but there was not time to score back. A bitter pill for the Warriors.

2nd half Rembrandt was fumbling the ball (using both of the team's rerolls) early to make things awkward before getting the ball to Swan. The Hunters were making way across the pitch challenging but with some backtracking and a lot of manouvering Swan just managed the TD to equalize. We considered a brief stall but feared Cimmerius's diving tackle possibility.
That left the Hunters with a short time to score without rrs. They ran three players forward after the receiver picked up. The Elves marked all 3, plus the carrier, but failed to knock down Galdan. Galdan then knocked an Elf down to free space and the other Ulfwerener ko'd Fox. Duan then dodged out and did a short pass to Cimmerius who caught in a tackle zone! He then dodged too and raced in to the endzone to win at the last moment! What a play.
Not a bad performance from the Warriors today but somehow a couple of key plays for the Norse TDs left us in defeat.
