#4 Robert Smith – Dead (RIP)
This was a great game marred by some late antics that apparently didn't sit well with everyone.

Buller won the toss and elected to receive. We set up in the boat formation, with a 101 line: Siouxsie, Steven, Budgie, Carruthers and Hyaena rode passenger. SwagStar put up a 5-man line with Mino Pete at center, plus two flankers on either side and Jimbo and Nap back to get the ball. A thrown rock killed DJ, the beastman manning the north flank. The line-blocking went outside-in, with the beastmen at "tackle" throwing the opening blocks and following in, leaving Mino Pete with 3d/2d to hit my noseguard, getting a Badly Hurt result. A blitz on a lineman who didn't go down, and the Chaos team caged up strongly in the middle of the pitch, leaving both flanks uncontrolled. We locked out the north flank, forcing a southbound drive; Buller06 complied and moved his cage to the south end of the pitch. We locked them out of a midfield redirect and the scrum lasted rather uneventfully until our turn 6, when we finally sprung a blitz on the ball... and skulled out. Still, this convinced Buller that the game had gotten too hot and Jimbo ran in a score in turn 7, leaving us 2 turns to equalize, which we did with some crazy Hyaena antics involving 6 dodges (all 2+), a pickup in a zone (also 2+), and a 3+ short pass to Siouxsie with interception attempt.

In the second half, we saw Buller with a strong 101 line of Warriors and Minotaur, and flanks set up to prevent an assist, with 4 men deep. So we set up a minimal 303 line, Severin at the nose to prevent Blitz! rolls from becoming a catastrophe, and we attacked southward, with Siouxsie badly hurting Jimbo, who did his job screening more valuable Carter from a blitz. The Chaos team overcompensated and we redirected northbound, with Carruthers carrying. Severin took out the beastman Pete, and we got the edge on them and caged up in their backfield. Camping on the endzone with the ball proved hazardous, as Carruthers went down on turn 5 and Bill C scooped it, killing Robert Smith as he got free. With some elf-plays, though, we got Bill on the ground and Severin ran in the TD. The Chaos got a good northbound drive opportunity, but we stalled it out and it went nowhere. On our Turn 16, afraid of a Claw/MB blitz, we fouled Mino Pete, seriously injuring him. This led to an argument about sportsmanship between the two coaches, but I maintain that I was doing it to save +2 on the armor roll when he blitzed me on turn 16. Oh, and that turn 16 fouls are fair game anyway.
