We were facing Skaven who looked very alert. Straight up we went for the TTM TD with Hulk Hogan's Mate getting the ball to Lucan before Les did his talent of throwing Lucan forward before the snot ran forward to score beautifully.
The Rats then raced back with a handoff between GRs getting the ball up the pitch and a blitzer badly hurting a snot. We couldn't get close to covering back so it was soon 1-1, though Jim Breaks had badly hurt a linerat.
The rats kicked wide but there was another Lucan TD pulled off.
On the return the Skaven again got forward quick but this time we applied some pressure with Jim Breaks trying to grasp the ball carriers collar. But Ixis dodged away and then dodged through Hulk Hogan's Mate's tacklezones like he wasn't there. 2-2. Bulldog had also cas'd another GR, Nightstalker.
The pressure was on and the rats did an impressive long kick. Ogres were going dumb and it looked like things could get tough. But we managed to clear space in the centre and Bulldog took his turn to throw Lucan and see the little guy score again. Lucan with 3 TTM TDs!
Again we got back to grasp at the GR ball carrier next drive. It seemed maybe this could be the defensive success. But no he dodged away and saw Trasher, a Stormvermin, in space who gleefully caught a handoff and equalized. 3-3 at half-time!
What could the 2nd half hold. Surely someone would crack. We were playing v just 9 rats. Vespreth, their tackle Stormvermin got his 2nd cas and one of the GRs picked up in their backfield. They advanced while Vespreth killed poor Tom Thumb, and it was soon 4-3.
There was yet again a long rat kick that HHM picked up but this time we couldn't recover as Les went dumb when Lucan had the ball. Then it happened a 2nd time. Les was out of his mind. A GR, Vermillion, then superbly dodged in and badly hurt Lucan. We were undone. There was still chance for more casualties and the ball to change hands with Jim Breaks surprisingly getting the ball twice, but he had too far to go. 4-3 down we end.
