“The Champions came up against a Necro team who were hiring the services of Hack Enslash, who proved to be an inspired signing for the match.

Straight off we started with a blitz but Brinnie the Ghoul dodged away from a Saurus who was then stunned by Hack's saw. As we tried to reform the pain started to hit as Barbarus was Saw ko'd and a skink was badly hurt by a zomb. Another skink was badly hurt as he tried to slow the Ghoul's advance and after just 3 turns thing were looking bad. It got worse as Rio Grande was injured and another Saurus was ko'd, both again by the whirling sawblades! The Ghoul had passed the ball to a Wolf who was stalling. Chances looked few but but Superiore did manage to take him down expertly. Santo grabbed the ball and took it forward. But with little protection his run didn't last long and he was brought down. A werewolf scored just before halftime for a great Necro drive. The Saurii had made a lot of blocks but just couldn't make an impact.

Next half Santo managed to score but it was a close shave as he sidestepped a Golem hit and he dodged and raced through to the endzone after we pushed some players around.

With their 11 to our 8 players at setup a Necro winning TD looked likely but we were given a chance to break through the centre of the LOS, take down a covering Wight and mark the Ghoul carrier. Again it escaped and then threw a missed pass forward. We couldn't take down the Wolf near the ball but Santo scooped it up. However he was cas'd by a ghoul and the ball was yet again in Necros hands. A saurus had a surf chance but rolled both down! Santo was then surfed instead. There was little time left but it came down to the Necros having to pull off a pass and they couldn't quite do it. 1-1!

We were struggling for a lot of this match despite 54 blocks, but we kept hassling these Necros and somehow we get away with a draw. ”
