“Despite picking up Zug as an extra man for the 2nd game in a row, this game was the epitome of finesse over brutality, both teams pulling off some spectacular passing and running plays and the game was tied 2-2 at the end of the first half. Harry 'The Bomb' dropping precision passes for his receivers, whilst the elves demonstrated their mastery of the short pass and hand-off with their dodges and leaps.

In the 2nd half Happenstance got lucky with a blitz and despite the defensive setup were able to spill the ball and score on a defensive kick, through Rockstar Superstars bossing of the blitzs and Awesome Sauce's agility getting him intothe ball and back out again for a short pass.

Everything seemed to be going well, I was preparing for vicotry over the elves when things started to go wrong... 1st Awesome sauce who had been awesome until this point missed a catch, then missed the dodge to position for the intercept. The Elves got it back to 3-3, still plenty of time for me to get a 4th... or so I thought...

My previously excellent blocking went from bad to worse a double skull reroll result ending my first action on the receiving turn, from there none of the elves went down in the blocks thrown and they broke through the human line to start threatening the back field.

Never fear a simple handoff to Harry The bomb, an easy pass to Awesome sauce and some jinks by him would see me away scott free int heir endzone, except Harry fumbled the handoff and as I'd (stupidly) wasted a reroll in sheer frustration on a 2d block the ball bounced right near the endzone and beckoned the elves to get their final score which they did, leaving the game 4-3 to them.
