CIBBL Season One Spring

Don Enrique was watching the highlights of his team for the second time this evening.
The Tileans arrived early this week and were exploring the town a couple of days. Don Enrique plead the Tilean coach to release their snow troll in the mountains, as it was the creature of the wild. It turned out their monster was a circus specimen and would not survive in the wild.

The opponents finally had enough exploring and the game was finally scheduled. To Don Enrique's surprise despite being at home the Estalian fans were outnumbered by the Tilean supporters. The weather was perfect for a great game, although a bit cloudy.
The Dragon Hawks won the toss and opted to receive. Their nimble elf scooped up the kick and they were pushing on their left side. This turned out to be a ruse, as they tried to switch sides, but Felipe managed to take the elf down with the help of Sancho. A big scrum started in the middle of the field, which the Noblemen won, but the Tileans regained the ball. As time was winding down Bel-Varar, their star-to-be broke through the defense and got into scoring position, waiting for the ball from his kin. He was taken down by Miguel, thwarting the chances of the Hawks.
0-0 half time.

The second half saw nine Tileans defending against a whole team of Noblemen. Bernardo ran well covered to the left, then cut back to the middle. Meanwhile Juan broke the neck of Prisca Lupo, killing the Tilean instantly and more and more lightly armoured Hawks were leaving the field . In the middle the Noblemen managed to take down the snow troll and Enrico used to opportunity to try his new iron shod boots. The monster was carried off the field. The ensuing celebration almost cost the Noblemen the game. Being too elated by this accompishment the huddled too closely and the despicable hedge wizard of the Tileans used his craft to great effect. A fireball struck, taking out Bernardo. Luckily the ball bounced to the surprised Carlos, who caught it with a spectacular move, but was promptly flattened by Bel-Varar, who snatched it out of the air and ran with it towards the endzone. It was once again up to Miguel to stop him. Domingo harrased the elf, while Miguel took him down with a brutal blow. The crack of the fair elf's skull can be heard all over the stadium. He was presumed dead, but the Tilean apothecary could bring him back, although he will always bear the mark of that tackle. Domingo cuaght the ball gracefully with four Tileans on the field against twice as much Estalians he ran it in with ease.
1-0 Noblemen!

Both teams were horrified to see that the income from the game was almost completely gone. The meager scraps of the winnings were divided almost equally.

Dragon Hawks Play of the Game: Bel-Verar emerging from the smoke left from the fireball, knocking down Carlos with a kick to the head and snatching the ball mid air then breaking a tackle and running towards the endzone.

Noblemen Play of the Game: Miguel almost killing Bel-Verar after his display of skill, taking down the high elf with such force that the apothecary has to intervene to save his life.

CabalVision Game Summary: Tough defense on both sides, with the Noblemen winning this war of attrition.”
